T-SB-0026-15 front differential groan/grinding cyclical noise apply to 2016 ?

    I have a 2016 SR5 2.7 4wd. I have the exact symptoms the bulletin describes. The bulletin pertains only to 2010 thru 2015. Anyone else experiencing these concerns on there 2016 Tacoma?

    Had exact same issue in my 16 4R 4X4--it was assembled with an expired front differential. It was replaced with 41110-35A91.

    Did they say it was related to the service bulletin? My truck has around 10000 miles and definitely sounds like the bulletin. (Left front needle bearing)??

    They only said that it is a common problem in 4R, Tacoma since 2004. Some fail at 5000 miles, 10,000 sounds typical. The drive train is covered till 60K so you should not need the service bulletan. The left front needle bearing is the cause, but my diff was damaged by the worn bearing.

    Pop-n-lock tailgate. New radio knobs. Rear step.
    I have a faulty needle bearing too. Most apparent when the truck is cold and the ambient is cold.

    Edit: No lift, stock.

    Agreed. Much worse in the cold temps below 35F.

    True. It is definitely more noticeable in colder temps. Guess I'll be making an appointment to get it looked at.

    Has anybody had their truck fixed with new needle bearing? My truck is stock and low miles.

    Recommend you leave it overnight so it's cold when the tech drives it. That's what my dealer wanted. If the diff heats up the gear oil can dull the grinding...
