    Suppose you're on a dirt road in 2wd, rev to 4500 and dump the clutch in first. The rear wheels spin and the axle begins to hop and gets progressively more violent.

    Those stresses get transferred through the drive shaft, transmission, to the crank and rod bearings, these pulses could cause metal meet metal situation, whereas constantly pulling at 3000 rpm on a smooth road is easy

    I might just be ignorant but I don't see how oil weight would affect that.

    I won't comment further after this ..
    There is a measurable film of oil preventing the journal from touching the bearing....thicker film would mean more protection

    I've used T6 exclusively since I bought the Tacoma. 80k trouble free miles. Use it in all my bikes too.
