So far no flex, I tried to lift with my fingers it is held in place pretty well. Factory adhesive felt like expansion foam comparatively.

I fixed the issue with my hood by using latex caulk that dries clear and flexible. Caulked all the spaces between the reinforcement bars and hood. no repaint needed. Have to look hard to see the caulk. Solved problem for me.

Well I'm beginning to hate these forums as every time I have a problem it seems I'm not alone. I noticed that my hood was vibrating & then came across multiple posts about the issue here. After looking under the hood I appear to have the same problem with the adhesive bond.

I haven't contacted my dealer yet but here is what I know won't happen. I won't be putting some simple backyard fix on my 40k truck while it is still under warranty. I am still less than a year old so I fully expect the dealer to address all form, fit & function related issues. I'll update my progress after I get it in to the dealer.

I'm also beginning to question why I didn't just but another Superduty. I guess having owned 3 older Toyota 4Runners had my expectations set too high.

They'll outsource to a body shop. There's no official toyota corporate level fix for this yet which would likely come in the form of a tech tip or TSB for the dealers to apply. So for now the dealer is left holding the bag and trying to outsource to get it fixed. The problem then becomes consistency because there is no standard approved corporate level field fix, we have little control over how each body shop decides to address it. In rare occasions some have had their truck messed up by overspray when body shops have attempted to repaint the underside of the hood so at a minimum I'd tell the dealer to not allow the body shop to paint the hood. Apply adhesive and leave it be. That is if you actually let them outsource the fix.

Actually Smitty I don't care who they send it to as long as my invoice has a big fat Toyota logo on it just in case it needs to be elevated to a corporate level

They used Kaizen to speed up production of Hoods and this Poor Quality is the end result, in the past the inner support used to be welded to the Hood Skin and they would never separate. The Proper Official fix would be to go back to welding the braces in but that will never happen, if anything, to "continuously improve" they will reduce the amount of glue they are currently using.
