    Trying to finalize my order- anyone have input on what coil weight to use for my access cab with a steel Pelfreybilt bumper? I was thinking 650# but I don't want to underestimate the weight.

    Center hoop, Rigid D2 fogs, no plans for a winch yet. I'm just scared to go to 700# because I've heard people with a winch and bumper complain of a hard ride. And my access cab is a hair on the lighter side over a double cab.

    I opted for the 650lb springs and I have zero added weight on the front. Probably will be a while before I add any weight up front. Would 650 be too stiff of a ride; if so should i go for 600lb instead?

    It will be a little stiff but not too bad. I use to ride on 650 before I went LT. If you plan to get more weight in the future you might as well get it now than pay more later.

    I don't think the shocks particularly matter, as the coilovers, standard or extended, offer the same lift range, but you'll want a 700# coil based on my research.

    My knee jerk reaction is to say 750 based on that laundry list of weight but I'm still stock up front so what do I know? Have you called/emailed/PM'd DSMS or King? I'm sure they've dealt with your scenario about 972 times.

    I just heard back from DSM and they recommend 650 spring rates for the 3rd Gens with no extra weight up front. I guess the 3rd gens have extra weight up front compared to the 2nd gens.

    Also DSM verified that EVERYONE will be charged on the 10th.

    What haven’t I changed?
    I think you'll be fine with 700lb coils in the front. I have pretty much the exact same armor (minus LCA skids, but that's unsprung weight) with 700lb coils, and my front end still doesn't compress that much with two fat dudes hanging off of the front bumper.

    And just for everyone else's info, DSMS suggested 650's for my 2nd Gen w/ steel bumper. So probably 600 with no weight up front on a 2nd Gen.
