Front coil springs to match OME Dakar leaf packs

I just today installed OME Dakar rear leaf packs, and have 5100s front and rear. Front coils are stock and 5100 clips are at highest setting.

The rear of the truck sits pretty high now, but I've not driven it enough to know if the rear shocks are going to top out over speed bumps.

I'm not clear if this is an issue with 5100s or only with OME shocks.

My questions, are: what front coils should I go with to balance it out (it's 1.75" to 2.25" higher in the rear now), and what can be done if the 5100s do top out?

The OME coils for first gen are: 2880 - 1.25 to 1.5" lift, 2881 - 1.75 to 2" lift, 2882 - 2.25 to 2.5" lift (recommended for double cab), 2883 - 2.5" lift on double cab with winch, bumper, etc.

Based on above, the 2882 seems like the best bet. Does anyone have experience with this spring setup with the 5100s and everything else stock?

Mostly road driving with some fire roads.

    Thanks

OME 881 coils with OME nitrochargers shocks up front. TC UCA's OME Dakars with extra leaf in the rear. Warn 8000 winch with 80ft custom braided synth line. Custom 60ft synth extension. All pro tube bumper, Hi-lift jack, Safari Snorkel, Wilco tiregate. 2019 Jeep JLUR.
I run 881's, always have. 2 sets now.
I also have the I4 but with a heavy tube bumper and winch.
I would suggest either the 881 or 882.
Unless youre going full plate bumper and winch. Untill then, its going to be really stiff up front.

I also ran my stock UCA's for the longest time. 0 issues....but on 1st gens, its hit and miss with allignment. You might consider them.

Btw....im running the dakkars in the back with the extra leaf and with 881's, bumper and winch...i have just a smidgen of rake.

Thanks. I see that the difference between the 881s and 882 are spring height. 881 - 375mm. 882 - 395mm. Also worth noting, I didn't get the extra leaf, just the Dakar packs as a majority of the time I'm running empty except for the 150# rack. I'm guessing trucks running the Dakar + extra leaf sit higher. If so, that would lean me toward the 881s.

Are you saying that with the 881s its going to be really stiff up front with the stock bumper? I have no plans to change the bumper, install a winch, etc. Should I be considering a softer spring with lift to match the rear?

Doesn't sound like you've had any of the topping out issues with your shocks? And do you run 5100s? Yes, I'll have to deal with the UCAs if it becomes an alignment issue.

No, sorry. I run the OME nitrocharger shocks.
It's a prefference really although the OME shocks are tuned to the springs.

Currently, the only weight in the back is my wilco tiregate carrier and spare. Probably 100 lbs. I did have about 300# of recovery gear and about 300# of play sand that I carry in the winter.
The toolbox doesnt work with my softopper so its currently out of the truck.
But even with the extra leaf...its almost level with my 881's.
I understand you have the v6 but the weight of my tube bumper and winch probably almost equal the weight between our engines.
I would run the 881's if you dont plan on adding anything else up front with your shocks on "0". Also run both .25 spacers on top till they wear in and when you notice the taco lean...just pull out the passenger spacer.

Yea. The 880's are meant for lift but no extra weight on the front. Mainly for the I4.
The 881 and 882 are same spring weight, the 882's just a few ml taller.
I thought about the 882's durring this last lift last year. But the 881's have performed flawelessly with the weight I have upfront and didnt want to change anything.

I'd go 881. I have bilstein 5100 front and rear. I've had 880 on lowest setting and on 2nd notch. 881,882, and Eibach 620's. also have Dakars in rear. I'm level with 881. 880 on 2nd notch has about 1" rake lower in front.882 are 3/4" higher in front and are a little stiff. Eibach are 1" in higher in front and are way to stiff. Anything higher than 2.5" front lift is to much on cv angles. I'm a stock DC 4wd V6. 881 is perfect ride for ME. 880 rides better but is not enough lift.

I'm running 2881's with 5100's right now and love them.

If 881's aren't enough or start sagging you can add 3/8" or 1/2". 'lift enhancers ' which require longer top plate bolts. They add ride height but don't change ride quality. I have pics and measurement from center of hub to top of fender with all 4 spring setups if you'd like them. I'm on 265 70 right now. Just ordered 265 75 ko2. Should be here I a week. You're prerunner so you'll be a little higher

Since the 5100s are adjustable you should be fine with 881s.

I'm running 882s and OME struts and am pleased with the setup on/off road.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think based on this, the 881s sound like a good option for me! Suggs12, the pic is really helpful to show the stance. That looks great. Are you using stock UCAs, and any issues getting alignment settings?

Are there any other items to order/ replace aside from the springs and .25" spacers as Matic suggests?

One note on the Dakars; this morning was my first drive that was longer than around the block, and the ride improvement is amazing. It is so much smoother and compliant compared to the old stock springs with the worn out Wheeler's Off Road helper spring. Without that helper spring, the OEM springs were bent in a frown under the weight of the truck, so they were shot. I'm very happy with the ride quality so far, and I think it will be even better once I get those 881s on there.

Just to hop on the 881 vs 882 question. If I have a DC V6 with an ARB, and put Dakars on the rear, should I go with the 882s on the front and run the 5100s at the lowest setting?
    thanks!

I had a spacer lift before, but I measured and got about 2.5-3" in the rear with an AAL and 5100's and nearly 3-3 1/4" in the front with the 5100's on the second setting (.67"). I was pretty pleased with the overall outcome.

Yes I am using stock UCA's for now, alignment was fine and had no issues.

I'd go 882 with an arb. Could go 883 if you don't mind it being a little rough. Do you have a winch? If so definitely go 883

No winch, and I don't think I'll need one anytime soon. Thanks for the info!

3" ome lift 883. Fnfx pros.
20170222_163026.jpg I have the 883s and the stock bumper...really not stiff at all and rides better than the factory TRD setup. I don't feel like the 882 could to drastically different.

No winch here either. Will order 882s.
I am wondering about the OP's original comment about the Dakar pack topping out the 5100s. I read about this on another thread and I am wondering if it is a consistent issue, or just a one-off thing.
