Do you own this combo? I'm looking at the SDHQ hidden winch mount myself and see their website really drives you towards the warn xeon platinum series but says others may fit. Is this the smittybuilt 10k you have? http://www.4wheelparts.com/Winches-...aspx?t_c=18&t_s=300&t_pt=100702&t_pn=S/B98510

Yup thats the winch i have. The winch fits perfect on the sdhq mount. Two things i had to get creative with though is that the smittybilt fairlead is a different size than the warn so the included template for cutting the bumper insert doesn't match. And the mounting holes on the smittybilt control box doesnt match to the bracket so i drilled new holes in the bracket

What do you guys think about rear 2500lbs winch? I have front one 10000lbs, but want to be fully prepared.

Go with the basic hitch mount and have an extra long jumper cable for it to run off your battery, even consider having a receiver hitch welded on the back of your trailer so you can pull from that as well.

I don’t think you need a fancy front bumper with a built-in hitch. What are you going to do? Drive up forward to the river and pull the boat ashore, then back up and turn around with the trailer and then back up to the boat? It’s much easier to pull from the back of the trailer, then load up the boat by moving the winch up to the front of the trailer honey tiedown we had there and drive forward away. I learned that trick loading drift boats. Keep the winch small, you are going to be moving it around by hand and unstable ground.

C4 Lo-Pro with Smittybilt X20 9500lb winch with syn cable

Not the best winch but I’ve literally had to use it once to pull some logs out of the way. If I had the extra $$$ I’d go Warne.

These don't get much love here but mine has been pulling my trucks out for over 15 years without any failures..or batteries. Of course they won't do what a stout winch will do but they have their advantagesScreenshot_2019-09-14-20-38-06.jpg
