Tire pressure question: so when I air down 18 is a sweet spot for me generally. Sobi air down to 20 on hot tires which puts me at 18 approximately. Now, the question is when I air back up to 40 (chalk test confirmed this is right for my tires) do I air up to 40 psig, 38 psig, or 42 psig? Been thinking about that a lot lately.

When you do your chalk test, are you doing it with cold or hot tires? That should answer your question.

I usually air up to an estimated area and then re-check my pressure later that night or the next morning when I'm home.

Speaking of - I got myself a leak out in J Tree. Got it patched up this morning though

With how cold the co2 is in the IAS tank I'd go 38 and let it warm up to 40.

Ok team. I bolted the rear and the ubolts in snug. Now there is too big of a gap to get the frame mount and the leaf to line up. What's the best plan? Front first? Only issue is the center pin then has issues lining up. It's one thing after another.

Speaking of co2. How do you like it? Found a spot that fills me up for 10 bucks. Stoked on that

What worked on my truck when @goblue82 and I did the install was front first, then lined up the center pin, then rear. Idk if it'll be the same for a 1st gen but same concept.

It's great so far! After JT took 20 seconds per tire to go from 20psi to 32 :D Easy as can be to set up and use, no complaints so far.

Then Greg needs ~36.4psi cold to get 40psi hot?

Assuming you did the chalk test on cold tires:
40 PSI if your tires are cold.
44-45 PSI if your tires are already warm.
If you've been wheeling all day im not sure if this counts as warm or cold, most likely somewhere in the middle, depending on what you were doing.

I usually air up to a reasonable amount somewhere close to what it should be and then check my tires again the next day when they are cold so that I can make sure the pressure is good.

Word. I think the consensus is air up to approximate proven value and then recheck asap on a cold tire. Respek. I'm guilty of not always rechecking the next day.

Dammit, all this airing down and up talk has me jonesin' to go wheeling. How was mammoth, James? Snow for days I know that much.

Mammoth was sweet, good weather Saturday. I stayed in a second story condo and had snow blocking some of the windows. Massive amounts of snow everywhere.

Got a picture of where you're stuck?
I had to use a bottle jack to apply pressure to move the leafs where they needed to be to bolt everything up. The 2nd side went in much smoother though haha. Sometimes you have to outsmart the truck and move one thing to make room elsewhere.
