    still wrong.

The gascap holder is the fuel nozzle lol
At least for me it is. All the stations here removed the locks on the pump so you can't leave it pumping. Just put the cap in there and it keeps it pumping.

I feel like you're hinting at beating her...

Dude I was scared of one chick because she showed up at my door after I hooked up with her at a party. I never told her where I lived or what my last name was. No clue how she found me, and it was all because I didn't call her.
Stage 5 clinger bro. scared the shit outta me lol

I just let mine hang from the strap. The cap rests against my fender flair and it's plastic on plastic. I don't see the issue here.

Oh ya, 100% they are out there. And I agree, you never know, but a locking gas cap isn't going to prevent the crazies from doing something to your vehicle.

Crazy girl does not walk up to vehicle with pound of sugar, finds a locking gas cap, turns and goes back home to cry a little more in her rice krispies, coated with 2 teaspoons of said sugar.

Nope, headlights and windshield pay for that gas cap. ^^

Yeah, that cap with the "depression" in the cap will pick up water and dirt, and when you fill up ... guess where that shit goes...!!

That cap is crap... I would not use it. Original works well. (where are the "thumbs down" emoji's..?)

    OCD, engineer, and perfectionist. :)

I tried that for the first year. Wasn't cutting it for me...the cap cord reached fine but it wasn't what I called easy to use for a 30k vehicle.

The cap has a strong spring loaded flap. When you put in the gas nozzle she opens right up. Will it keep nano size particles out? No. Will it keep water out? Not sure... but not sure how water will get into the hole either unless the gas door is left open.

so far, so good. The cap has a nice seal material underneath it. My assumption is that Stant did R&D on this to ensure it is not going to set off cel's. otherwise, they would be getting lots of returns.

given the gas door doesn't lock nor does it have much of a seal around it a lot of water will get in there.

Dude have you washed your trust at all or gone through a carwash?
Plenty of water will get in.

Good to hear. Keep us updated if it does act up. I do believe Stant does supply some OEM caps in the industry. I'm wondering if it has a secondary trap door with a lip that helps with debris drainage before the actual funnel?

I don't trust Stant at all. Bought the locking cap and it broke after 3 uses.
Thankfully it broke where it wouldn't lock. Imagine it broke locked? How the fuck would you get that thing out.

I read through most of that before, gave up on it at about page 20.

I think the dealership is sneakin' up to his truck at night, and with a little smirk on their face, pouring a little more sand into his tank. He must have pissed them off. :D

IDK, the story is a little long-winded for me.

Ah-haaa...easy....find crazy girl, date her a while, dump her like a dirty shirt, and then UPS exactly 1 lb. of sugar to her address, pre-paid shipping!

Sorry man... hand wash only here. No machines, touchless or not. Yes it gets wet behind the door, no I don't feel it will lead to any water getting in.

One thing about sugar. It doesn't dissolve in gas. Plugs up the fuel filter or screen and requires a tank dump/filter change but nothing else.

Dude got fired at a truck shop I worked in. A few days later the gas burner yard dawg stopped running. I pulled the filter and it had sugar in it. Drained the tank and a bunch ran out. I poured the gas off the top of the sugar and back into the tank, changed the filter and all was fine.

Back when fuel tanks were metal it would rust them out though.
Mythbusters had a whole episode on which vehicle myths were true. Bleach in the oil destroys it.
