Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Not really the place for bashing if you have beef, try running a business someday or get with them offline to question their shipping costs in a PM.

However, I went with the ********* Recurve and then purchased my own setup of amps, speakers, subs and mounts. I love the recurve simplicity and tuning options with the stock head unit.

We have a difference of opinion if you think being aghast at $93 in shipping is bashing.

No difference in opinion, just how you go about addressing it. Neither one of us have any idea the distance/weight or other shipping requirements associated with what was ordered nor the commercial contracts associated with the shipping distributor. It seems that you are assuming shipping is always negotiable or free like a big box company that has long standing agreements and contracts. ********* isn't BestBuy or Crutchfield and can't compete the same way.

Still, it's not bashing. It's just being aghast.

@watercrawl he used usps for shipping. they are very expensive with shipping over their "flat rate charges"
plus his order weighed about 30 pound and its traveling at 2 day shipping.

Hmm... I did not expect nor want this to turn into such turmoil. Just to update everyone, I received my order today (complete and a couple of goodies put in as well). Suffice to say that Josh came through in the end. I guess the lack of communication, which Josh at ********* explained to my satisfaction, really got me going. That having been said, I can't wait till I have time to get these puppies in. Again, my apologies for getting this thread to such a state.

    p.s.
zippsub is correct. Upon reflection I remembered that not all companies incorporate shipping costs into the price of their product, and as stated shipping is not cheap.

So reading this thread...would buying the amp wiring harnesses from ********* sells but sourcing speakers and gear elsewhere be a recommended route?

I do like the entire kit solution from *********. But the limited speaker options is a concern.

    Thoughts?

I did the Subaru tweets (literally plug and play), then added Image Dynamics ID 69s in the front doors (with Taco Tunes mounts and adapters). Even with the stock head unit, the sound is a HUGE improvement. I plan to add Image Dynamics 6.5s in back doors next, and will add an amp at some point. Night and day even without back door speakers and amp in yet.
