Ha, wish I would have read this yesterday. I used an impact on both and stripped one completely. Ended up having luck with something called speed out I picked up from HD. Thanks for the help.

Also after removing the leak was coming in through the seal of the windshield. Just in case it helps anyone else in the future.

You won't need to use Kent products. You can go to any well stocked auto body supplier. Every city has one and the big cities have more than one. The same place dealers and auto body shops buy their supplies from Even any podunk town like the one I live in will have what you need at the local NAPA or some other parts store. Or maybe even the local ACE hardware.

3M makes everything you need to seal seams. Sealers have only gotten better over the decades. Just walk in and tell them what your problem is. Sem also makes products for the problem. Just make sure you clean and dry the area real well before you apply. Surface prep is the real key to the stuff sticking and staying stuck. Isopropyl alcohol is great as the last step. Just make sure the seam is completely dry before you apply. IA cleans off everything. I just downloaded the "fix" and it doesn't really look like a huge deal. I worked in autobody for 10 years.

It was 20 years ago but trust me, nothing has changed when it comes to a problem like this. 3M makes a sealant for anything and everything. I used 3M "seam sealer" for years even after I stopped restoring cars for a living. I think I still have a tube of it laying around somewhere. Clean and dry for the surface is the key for a permanent fix. They have stuff these days far better than the traditional 3M seam sealer although it is still made. They "glue" doors together these days. No welding anymore.

I don't know where you live but heat or at least room temp would be nice for whatever sealant you use to cure properly. If it's -10 where you live you'd better find a way to get some heat in there. Not a lot, but some. Nothing cures well much below 70 degrees when it comes to sealers and glues.

Well, gone for a week. Had a fan on it and got it all dried out in the garage. Decided to check one last test. This time instead of just holding the hose on the widow, I just sprayed it into the cowl. Loaded it up and no leak. I'm starting to think it's leaking through the bottom of the window seal..

Well, tested the window and it's not looking like that's it. Went back to trying the cowl again this time with more water in the cowl and I got the leak to pop back. I'm guessing that's where my leak is.

I had this problem a while ago. As weird as it sounds my leak was actually coming from the drain plug under the carpet on the passenger side.

Do you have a suggestion for the spray sealer. From what I can see it looks like any of the spray sealer deals like you would use to seal gutters. My only thought is it calls for a 12 inch extension and I'm not sure if that is needed or if it would even spray through a regular spray extension which I'm sure isn't 12 inches.

My drivers side and passenger side front and rear both leak..... I drive around with a moisture absorbant in my truck. I really wish I could locate the actual leaks though.

I'm pretty much assuming this is going to be 98% the seal on the windows that have just gotten old with time. So if you need a new windshield this might be the time to do so. As for the back window you'll just have to pull it and put it back with all new seals. Should last you another 15-20 years ya know.

I had the whole rear glass replaced a couple years back. Most of the water in the rear is right around the door step panel that is held in place with a couple screws. Almost like it's coming in from below.

Actually might be coming from the front window still. My leak is at the top middle of my windshield. What it was doing is going down the headliner, down the a pillar, then the side of the dash that you don't see when the door is shut and to the floor. From there if you pull up the carpet a little you'll see there is a perfect canal for it to then stream to the back. My little leak went all the way to the back legs of my passenger seat.

Well I thought I would post up. It's been 2 weeks of heavy rain here in southern Oregon and I'm still dry. Started by pulling the fender and doing what that repair sheet called for. After that I was hopeful. Nope.
Next weekend I pulled the cowl off and got to work in there. I seam sealed the front lip inside with a long tube I used as an extension. I then sealed up anywhere I saw seam sealer in the engine bay and fender area. After I took a can of spray sealer and hosed the inside of the cowl from all directions. (Removed the wiper motor) another sort lol. Got it all hosed up in there and so far (knock on wood) we are good.

Heck yea that you! Your thread is what made me think about adding that tube piece. Not sure if that's what sealed it up or everything else I hooped it on. So far ( knock on wood ) we are still sitting pretty! Thanks again.

Update on my leak.....I put a bead of silicone around the 3rd brake light....No leak as of last night during a storm. Seems to be a foam gasket around it....
