I live in Canada where the roads are punishment for most of the gear on our vehicles. Fox is one brand that is suggested for use up here (especially by one shop in particular). I'm wondering if anyone is running an icon setup and how it's holding out. I've seen their coils rust. The shop said the shafts will rust as well and blow the seals. They said the same about king, fox upsell or useful information?

To summarize, does fox hold up any better than icon in northern climates where salt is used?

It's a Fox upsell because they probably don't carry the ICON's.

I have ICON's on my truck with about 40K on them. They eat up washboard, potholes, and handle the ride under a heavy tow load. I love the ride. I cannot speak to the Fox shocks, as I have never run them.

    Front: 2.5 ET
    Rear: 2.0 Resi / 3" lift

They are on their third winter. I don't have neoprene socks or shock sleeves. I spray the truck with Krown every fall, and spray the shocks every couple of weeks with Rust Check. There is no rust or tarnish on them. The decals are intact. They look almost new.

A buddy of mine has a big ass Tundra with Fox resi's on front and back. He's had them on for years and likes them. He soaks his truck in Krown. They look like new because of the upkeep.

    Maintenance is key.

I figured, thanks man I appreciate the detail. I might risk it for the biscuit if the price isn't right for fox. The icons have a great rep! So keep a can of rust check handy and krown my truck! Sounds good to me! I didn't do it this year but next for sure, they do recommend every 2 years for krown. So if it was you would you buy them again? Also, how are those uniball holding up? Do you have TC or icon tubulars?

Your truck was the answer to all my questions, I wanted to see the DCLB on the icon setup, in Canada. @taczilla

SPC Light Racing UCA's = ball joint
All Pro heim joint (uniball) sway bar end links = spray with Krown to stop the squeaks

As for the ICON's, I would buy them again... and yes, carry a can of Krown or Rust Check with you. I also paint my frame, undercarriage, diff, etc. with Krylon Industrial Rust Tough satin black once a year or more.

Icons can be rebuilt. Not sure if that's all models but a lifetime investment anyways.
Something I might consider after the new 5100 s are worn.

    Can't speak about the others.
