If your torque wrench is reading/working correctly, I don't see why not.

15 miles so far and nothing noticeably wrong. Used locktite on the threads. Will check the torque specs at 50 miles. Just seemed way to easy to torque them down. Hoping the cheap overused loaner torque wrench from Orielys didnt screw me.

    stuff...
It would seem easy with the leverage of the torque wrench, plus the wet loctite acts almost like a lubricant until it sets.

while most places probably don't do it, the best way to use a torque wrench is to ease up to the required setting....not going straight to 85 or 100 ft/lbs

That's what I was taught. I don't really know why, though.. I just go 20lb below and then to final spec.

You could always replace the broken studs and drive on... Wheel spacers are fine, I use 1.50"

Why do you need a new spacer for the one with a broken stud? Can those studs not be replaced a la carte?

Yup... Dry torque specs are just that, bone dry with no more than the zinc plating or raw... But anything on the threads be it loctite or lube of any kind switches the torque chart to the lubricated section

Personally I just set it and gradually turn it to click... If you go too fast the inertia may do funny things to your applied torque idk... I never yank though, smooth steady PULL until click... Shit now days the torques are really low anyways.. OEMs found out about torque to yield ratings... Now they torque low, and torque turn for the final clamping

As far as aviation maintenance goes...you're suppose to break torque with the wrench on the lowest rated setting to lube it internally. I'm not sure if autozone/oreillys calibrate their torque wrenches...but they can be pretty sensitive. Dropping them, using them as a regular ratchet, and even leaving them out in the hot sun COULD throw off the torque settings.

@Aloha Scout what kind of lug nuts were you using with the wheelspacers?

at work we cycle 5 clicks at the highest setting prior to use. then set it back at the bottom until use.

most of the stuff at work is in inch/lbs though

I remember Brandon had a digital snap on torque wrench at the hangar he worked at. You set it, and it beeps when you hit the desired torque, and then the display reads the actual torque applied. Pretty cool, but I bet I can't afford it

Talking with Spidertrax on getting a replacement. They want me to send back the spacer for testing. Every other lug worked except one and I didn't do much of anything else different.

The spacers came with conical nosed lug nuts and then I used the stock lug nuts for the wheels.

I usually never question my torque technique but for some reason it just felt really easy even "dry" torqueing the wheels to the spacers. I'm probably just freaking myself out lol
