incredible looking truck man. some very choice mods! Looks like you've been running the ST Maxx for a while now. What's your take on them? I'll be looking at new tires this summer sometime. I have Duratracs now, but want something with a bit meatier sidewall. I like their performance in the snow, and they haven't really ever let me down other than one flat.

I've been pretty interested in the new STT Pro's as well. Any opinion on those?

I daily drive my truck, and do a lot of driving on the road for longer trips so quiet and mpg is a small concern, but I also spend a large portion of time (almost every weekend, when not on longer trips) on dirt, snow, rock, shale, roots and occasional mud.

Would love your input! Especially if you've ever used duratracs and can compare the two.

Also, I'm trying to debate between the clearance benefit of 35's to the economy benefit of 33's. Any input there?

Thanks so much for your time.

    Also, SUBBED :bananadance:

Yeah, I too would like to know your input on the additional clearance offered by your "almost" 35s....

Not to thread jack, but I love my Max's. About 14k on them so far. I drive 26k a year. Good road tire, great in rain, snow, rocks, sand. Decent in mud. My mileage did take a nose dive though. 295)70r17. I drive fast though.

Have you thought about doing 285/75/17? Comes out to a 34x11.30 I took maybe a 1mpg loss and now at 17mpg in the city with them but get the ground clearance of a 35 almost

Maybe we should tell Lloyd to get these so he can almost do the trails we do:p

Jimmy already has slightly larger tires and he can BARELY do the trails we do.

Yeah that's what I'm looking at 285/75r16 vs 315/75r16. Just way easier to say 35 or 33. You're also on st Maxx?

Good to know about the economy. Might just go with some bigger E rated duratracs then. My current 265/75r16 are C rated. Might end up with the same bad mileage any way though haha

    Sorry for the thread Jack....:quickdraw::cheers:

Duratracs are good for snow. Not good for rocky trails. Thin sidewalls.

Sorry. Was working before. I love my Coopers in 315. Also loved my BFG's in 255.

Is the extra 3/4" clearance worth doing 315's? That's up to you. I'll take all the ground clearance I can get. Might even go with narrow 36's next time.

    Ask @Subway4X4 about this...

I had Duratracs once. Never had them off Road though. Great in the snow.

What narrow 36's were you looking at?

I'm not looking at them at all yet. Still a LOT of life left in my Coopers. AND im doing a six tire rotation. It's going to be awhile.
