I have the method nv wheels 16x8 with 0 offset and I have 275/70r16 bfg at's on my 04 taco with a 3" lift...i will post pics when its not raining out...I noticed after being in anza borrego this past weekend I am rubbing on the frame when cornering. I thought the wheels were just hitting the mud flaps but is hitting the frame...I want that to end obviously.

I am planning on putting 33"s on this bad boy but I want to make sure the rubbing doesnt get worse, and hopefully I can come up with a solution. I was considering the km2's @ 255/85 but if I can keep a wider tire i would like to.

I dont want to use spacers unless I absolutely have to. I am wondering what wheel/tire set-ups people have who dont have rubbing issues with 33" or 35" tires on 1st gens.

Subd for the answer. I do know, however, that you won't need fiberglass fenders for 33"s lol. Unless you have long travel, you're good. I would use 285/75/16 instead of 12.5 wides. That would help, but you'll still need to trim the inner fenders and do a CMC to fully clear everything. I'm curious to see what most people do to help with frame rub. My guess is people add spacers or change out the rims.

Yeah I would rather change rims if I have to then add spacers. Just wondering what offsets people have found work great with that size tire.

3" ome lift 883. Fnfx pros.
I have the fn fx pros with 285/70/17's and rub the frame too at full turn. 3" ome lift as well. A small spacer is probably all that would eliminate it.

Yeah and thats where im curious, will buying new rims with an offset that fits the tire size perfectly in the wheel well cause just as much stress on bearings lugs etc as a small spacer or more.

That's an evergoing debate but most people here believe it's about the same amount of stress on things like that. I wouldn't worry about it. Most people here just recommend a good brand name like Bora and to recheck them every rotation.

On a second note, I have 285/75/16s with wheels that have 4.5" backspacing and I don't rub the frame at all, unless I'm aired down to about 10psi or lower.

Hmm sounds like I have an alignment issue possibly. I have a 0 offset with 4.5" of back spacing on 16x8 rims and the 275/70/16s are rubbing...thats why I was like wtf i wanted to go to the same tire size as you and am scratching my head
