Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty

Called him yesterday and left voicemail. No call back.

 

Please keep in mind they usually work 5 day work weeks, we may not be in the office. I have been emailing him back and forth aince my pirchase, and looking at the other threads I have started on other forums, looks like the usual call back or response is a few days. He has been trying to keep up with the increase in requests with Warranty - his 1st priority though is completely sales for customers in store working on their financing. Give it a few business days, he will get back with you. Thanks

 

What you mean the extra special once in a lifetime only for you deal reduced to 1500 bucks wasn't a good deal. I told them to pound sand, and will start shopping around. Still got 2 1/2 years.

Can anyone verify that 900 bucks can be beat? I would hate to get bottom dollar and then be a jerk pushing for more and end up with nothing.

These are for new purchases within 3 years and 36k miles from date of original purchase and back dated to the date of purchase.
6, 7, or 8 years at 75k, 100k, or 125k mileage options.

 

Correct, there are many different coverage options available through Toyota warranty. Also be careful when talking to the dealership....dont all of them sell Toyota warranties - some do a 3rd party!

Its also from the in service time of the vehicle, not in addition to the factory warranty.

A few people posted yesterday on another thread stating that they were all squared away on their agreement.

 

Nope. He never called. Left email. And phone number. Nothing. Great customer service. Hate people like that. At least email call or text and reach out.

This is a critical factor. Realizing you have to subtract 3 years and 36k from whatever you buy.

So an 8/125 is really a 5/89.

My take is wait till that 30k mark or so. If the vehicle has been flawless, you might chose to roll the dice and set that premium aside for potential repairs.

If it's been a clunker, extension or sale are options.

 

I agree, and if also decide what modifications you may make to the truck and their effect on the warranty.

 

Don't forget the truck also came with a 5yr / 60,000 mile power train warranty. Some components are also covered by a federally mandated 8yr / 80,000mi emissions warranty.

Either way, I agree that waiting to near the end of the original 3/36 before deciding on an extended warranty is the wisest course of action. You may be eyeing something different at the time, you may be planning mods that'd make substantial portions of the warranty moot, your truck may have been flawless and you decide it's better to bank the money against potential repair costs.

 

Just did a deal with Brian. Took a few weeks but was worth the wait. His price was the best I found. I know it's a gamble but it gives me an added peace of mind.

 

Is this still possible if you are beyond the 3/36 warranty. Or would it be limited to a 3rd party warranty.
