I got the buzzing vibration in the wheel at 2k RPM so I need 5th to get me to about 2500 rpm at 65 mph. I also use 5th to go up light inclines alot, but I agree if it is anything other than a slight incline I'll drop to 4th, run it up and skip to 6th once it flattens out (depending on speed, but freeway speeds here are typically 75-80 during most of my daily driving).

Spray some silicone lubricant spray into the sleeve containing the connecting rod between the pedal and the master cylinder. Take your hand and rotate that rod a few times. Repeat every few months. That's what I have to do.

some folks around here are claiming the longest lasting solution is a little disc brake grease. mine just started talking to me a few days ago, now at almost 6k miles.

This is a little bit of "tongue in cheek" response, and still only addresses the symptom and not the problem...but here goes.

My little black Taco here is my fifth Toyota, and only my second MT (only thing harder than finding a MT DCSB Taco, is a 3rd Gen MT 4Runner)...but my first Toyota was a 1985 4Runner 22RE 5 speed MT.

One day driving home from work, the clutch exploded...my brothers shop was 120 kms away. This was the day that I learned how to shift without a clutch (used the starter in first gear to start the roll when I HAD to stop). When my brother replaced the clutch, I continued driving that little 4 speed without a clutch except to start roll in 1st or Reverse. Upshift, downshift...no problem for the remaining 200,000 kms that I owned it (fvck I regret selling that truck to this day!)

Now, this little Taco I have only owned for 700 kms so far, and I haven't attempted the shift sans clutch in it yet...but I will, and life will be real good!

So, >MY< solution to a creaking clutch pedal? Don't use it!

    :D

Dude I've had mine in 3 times for this issue. They ended up replacing the pedal assembly last month. Creaking just came back today.

Planning a 1,500 mile road trip this summer. Will be all highway... should I try to get my hands on an air dam? Worth the hassle, or who cares?

If & when I let any other, family, friend, coworker, foe or neighbor drive my manual it'll only be if they already drive a standard shift. Others just wouldn't do the "precise" timing of power band ect. Can anyone relate to this?

    who cares!

just did one myself last weekend. no need. unless you want to put the $12 gas savings into a $200 air dam (or whatever it is).

I've only let two others drive my truck, and they both have their CDLs and are Manual Masters. I'd never allow my truck into the hands of anything but a pro and someone who loves MT. Call me protective.

Haha, OK. Was hoping there'd be better gains on open hwy... no big deal. Kinda crazy I can barely get 20 MPG out of this thing doing 75 on the interstate in sixth gear. I find I'm much happier when I just don't worry about it.

I relate, I have the same policy. The only one to drive my truck other than myself is my brother who has a subaru wrx with a manual transmission. No one is learning to drive with my truck.

I had that policy for many years but I'm breaking it. Teaching my wife to drive the taco because we'll need to split duties on road trips.

Anyone ever replace the clutch master cylinder on a '13 V6 6 speed? Found mine to be leaking and ordered a part. However, looks different the OEM (as it should since it's duralast). Will this CMC work?IMG_7606.jpg IMG_7607.jpg IMG_7608.jpg
