Hi... I am Timmy and I built a green energy home. Got tired of hearing people bash my geo- thermal heating and such, so I decided to dedicate a thread to those that care...Welcome even people that hate it.

Damn, great looking house, great looking property, you've got a solid homestead. Love the under garage design. No solar or is it too dark in PA?

Ah, it was hard to see. Only 1 powerwall for the home? I would expect at least 2 for the size...

I just want one for the basic things (frig basic lighting). I like the idea of doing a hybrid system and selling back to the grid. Plus there is no way it could run my geo-thermal for heat...I have a wood stove for that.

What was the cost on the geo? Solar? How long before it saves you enough to make up the cost?

Interesting. We only have a foot or two of dirt before hitting rock. Reason why well drilling is so expensive around here.

Geo cost 40,000 included my water well...got my well included in that and some other plumbing..got 30% back in federal and state taxes. It wouldn't have been that much but I had to buy the casings for all three of my wells which cos me about 5 grand ...you get the same with solar. Then my geo guy gave me 5000 dollars back in a check also...it's a long story.
