That will be one giant drawer! Can always throw in a few strips of HDPE to help it glide.

Easy enough, if I do it, to make it a split-drawer system.
The walk-in door makes a drawer system less than feasible. The whole door has to be lifted out of the way to use the drawers.
Right now all but the back center pad, which is hinged and covering the boxed area, can be removed for access from inside.

    That's sharp.

Never seen the big hatch door in person. How do you like it?

I say it is ok, it has it's pluses and minuses.
    Expensive door.
It is not a simple task to open it. There are 2 bungees below left and right, released/attached while the door is closed, reached while poking your body in through the small door, and it also has two locking latches above.
A 'working truck' would not want this'. Mine, right now, is a camping, road trip, around town truck.
I probably won't open the big door unless I was going to need it open.
The small door is ok to get in and out. I added a receiver mounted 'Beaver tail' by Smittybilt for stepping in/out.
I have to think about the stuff in the back not sliding into, damaging, the door. Not a big deal, just takes some forethought.

I might rethink it if I did it over, but it was paid for by the VW settlement.
ARE has questionable quality control. There are plenty of small things I would have had fixed before shipping.

I will post more later this year after using it in full use mode.

A drawer system would definitely be a not-so-useful addition.

Could always make a grid-like system using Rubbermaid containers.

Your setup is just like a boat in my opinion.

I just had an idea from all the ideas here, and made it work as I went along.

Here's my setup. Fits a full 6" memory foam mattress. 2 4' friction slide drawers and storage throughout.

After deciding the platform wasn't my thing. Yeah I'm a gear junky:) I'll also attach a pic of my Duluth crate organizer that I absolutely love for organizing straps, tools and gear. I made the fishing rod racks out of metal conduit straps. The idea is from one of our fellow TW members, thanks DC-USAF. The shovel and ax are mounted using quickfists. I bought the stuff and put together the 3' led lights and added a bedrug. And thanks to MattGecko for answering a few led questions!!!

Pretty basic setup. Still need to clean up all of the Espar stuff on the left.

The organization on that build is outstanding! :dancingbacon: Everything having a place must help greatly in your day to day work.

I am curious though, how much weight are you carrying in the back/top?

    Cheers
