Too funny... Makes me laugh when people won't try new things because it doesn't look or sound like things they normally eat. I have a lot of people from India that work with me and once they figured out I wasn't afraid of heat or to try new things they would bring in all sorts of things. Some AWESOME food that others totally missed out on.

My 10 year old wants everything hot like me. He calls Tabasco "egg sauce" and calls Frank's "chicken sauce".

My 8 year old says he's allergic to spicy food, he doesn't even want the bottle of hot sauce on his end of the table.

Thats one thing I notice after retiring from the military and coming back to my home area...it seems like people just dont venture out in food. I like to experience different foods and absolutely love spicy foods.

A friend of mine has two girls 10 and 8 yr olds, and they both love jalapenos on their foods! I was almost blown away!

If you want lip smacking ribs with a taste no one will be able to identify, rub them with Tabasco or Franks before you apply seasoning. It's freaking good.

I feel ya man. We just booked a weekend getaway for the little one at an indoor water park. Put a halt to my plans for buying a couple of new things mighty quick. If only they understood the sacrifices we make for them :)

Ya it's a shame. I have found many new things I really love that just looking at them you think they are going to be disgusting.

Some of the indian food I've had man do they like to crank up the spice. My mouth loved the taste but the other end wasn't so happy once the food wanted out.

Funny I've got 10 and 7 year old boys and they try and have a "hot challenge" at dinner every night. See who of the three of us will dump more and different hot sauces on our dinner. My wife and daughter think we are idiots!!

Good, sounds like Seattle brisket prices are the same as Tejas. Nice.

I always tell my wife just because I had to grow old doesn't mean I had to grow up :)

One year (like in my late teens) my best friend and I made home made hot sauce. I don't remember what all was in it but we pureed all sorts of different peppers and such and cooked it all down. I'm telling you man that stuff could be used to strip chrome from a bumper if needed. I had it in a plastic bowl till that gave way then it actually etched the glass bowl I put it in. We loved the stuff, my mom wanted to try some of it and we let her. Thought she was going to die or kill us, heck possibly both.

Now even when she's eating the stuff coming off the smoker even if she thinks she smells something spicy she let's other try it out first.

only hot sauce that has really burned me was in TX at a gun show...I asked for the hottest stuff the guy had and he pulled a cup from under the table, I then proceeded to grab a big chipful...to his disbelief and my pain I made it through. He said it was prob the most he saw anyone eat at one time, And earlier a 6'5" 350lb man went down on one knee with a drop of it on a chip...at least thats what he said. I walked off with my ear ringing and headed for some water...3 rows of gun tables later the stuff finally wore off...

    Too funny :)

I did some chili in Texas that I'm pretty sure is the stuff they use for death row gas chambers.

Drank a LOT of milk that night.
