So I'm having this dilema on what tires are going to be the best for me. I've decided on KO2s but am unsure on the size. I recently purchased the OME BP-51 kit from toytec (http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...sion-Kit-Lift-Kit-For-2005-Tacoma_p_1609.html) I plan on adding a new front bumper, winch, rear bumper with swingout, sliders, prinsu roof rack w/ light bar and eventually a bed rack/tent. My concern is with the tires on the lift. With all that weight will the suspension be able to hold up enough so that 285s can fit? or should I roll with 275s? Thank you for your valuable input!

Yes 285s will fit as far as suspension goes however expect to trim some plastic and maybe a cab mount chop

275 are a great tire size minimum trimming and you can carry a full size spare. Good size for a daily driver and off roading.
But when you get off road the 285 are much nicer, sand, mud, deep ruts a bigger tire is always nicer. When I went from the 275 to the 285 it was a good upgrade. Really tamed down the trails and much better on the dunes.

And yes some 285s will need the cab mount chop, cutting a corner off the body mount and rewilding a flat piece in. The fenders may also rub and the fender liner has to be trimmed a lot. My back is ok but I'm rubbing the front fender flares and popped off the drivers side..

So 275 are a good size to start with and when you wear them out you may be ready to do the extra work for 285s.

That's a good convincing argument. 275s it is. Makes sense for me as I upgrade the truck with armor and learn about the truck & off-roading in general. Thank you!

just go with 285's an do it all at once learn from me I ran 265/70/17 ko2s and liked it for a bit and then started hating myself for choosing that size when I could of gone straight to 285 in the first place.
