Well finally got around to making a build thread on my bitch so here goes. But first.... So this isn't my first Tacoma, I used to own a 2005 TRD Sport prerunner and absolutely fell in love with trucks. I owned her for a good 6 years and never really had any issues with her.

    DSC03848_zpsamlpv1se_5cf16e7a11059dfa8abe3d711a9b89be8724f9c9.jpg

And then wham! When trying to be BJ Baldwin goes wrong

    Craigslist be like:

Anywho.. Insurance ending up paying out pretty well and I just got a new job so I decided to purchase a 3rd gen taco. 2017 TRD OR 4x4 without all the bells and whistles. From then it's was a downhill slope. Who knew joining a free online forum would be so costly??

Here she is new when I picked her up from the deally with 0 miles on her. I wasnt even looking for a quicksand since they were so rare, but stumbled upon this beaut in good ol Stockton, CA.

First mods that came were blacking out that hideous chrome grill, 16" Method NV, BFG KO2s 285/76/16, Fox 2.0 coils and rear reservoir shocks, Toytec AAL, LR UCA's 1.25" wheel spacers and cab mount chop. Debadged and put in black inserts on the tailgate.

Also didn't care for the chrome bumper so I ordered a can of paint from Automotive Touch Up and surprisingly it came out really well.

If anyone is looking for a Pro grill but doesn't want to shell out that ridiculous $500, they sell them on ebay with one or two broken tabs on ebay for 200ish. Installed some LEDs from oznium, and Baja Design amber fogs.

My friends and I found a supplier in china that produces them. Hoping they come from the same manufacture as CVT or Tepui?? But we were able to customize colors and logo. Should be here sometime late April

Nice! I got lucky and snagged my Tepui used off of someone in the Nor Cal thread. Going out to use it for the first time this weekend.

How is the paint holding up you used on your bumper?

Held up okay. I don’t think I used enough clear coat so it started to crack and peel. If you zoom into the picture with the decked drawers out you can see how it started to flake away. I repainted it recently and put on a thicker layer of clear. So hopefully this time around it will last longer
