Lived in San Diego most of my life, went to UA for geology, graduated and moved back to SD. Decided to move back to Tucson about a month ago. Right now unemployed, but was an assistant manager at an Ace Hardware in San Diego

Loved it! One regret I do I have is not taking a GIS class when I had the chance, definitely a useful/marketable skill to have. Ideally I would like to do something with NPS or Forestry, but will take what I can for now.

Freeport has 1 copper mine south of Tucson. Not sure how active it still is, but the Silverbell Copper Mine is west of Marana (Asarco)

I think BHP has/had an office in Tucson.

Freeport has their big active mines in Morenci and Safford. BHP has Pinto Valley near Globe/Miami. Asarco has the Ray stuff south of Superior. Development of future sites all through those areas. Some of those could possibly have some sort of "shift work" (2 weeks on/off, etc)

Yeah, Sierrita. They had a rough patch last year but they are still going. Would be a good place for a geologist I think.

Yeah there are a lot of mining opportunities in southern AZ. I need to get off my butt update my resume, having an "extended vacation" has been nice to say the least...

Gonna bump this one based on @Istan 's advice...

I'm looking for work, and I really really need some networking here in the valley, as online resume submitting gets you essentially jack.

I moved here from Pennsylvania after completing my Master's degree (MBA) and have my undergrad degree in Business Administration as well. I own a side business (making vinyl decals) that helped put me through college but the overall logistics of it are not well suited for a cross country move- especially into an apartment- and so I don't have the opportunity to set it up here at this point in time.

    Things I do really well:
You may have noticed that I've written a bunch of 3rd gen specific DIY mod guides, sometimes product reviews but less so here on TW. I'm a very well practiced technical and creative writer. I have written ~800 page software manuals, internal design documents, marketing copy, and I've also (on other car forums) been given the opportunity to do sponsored product reviews.

That's not all, though! I have experience in the auto industry as a product manager, where I managed all aspects of the product life cycle including helping with buyer/planner stuff. Data wrangling has been part of my job description in most of my roles, and I can whip your excel spreadsheets into shape and then some. On top of that, I'm also pretty good at sales and have a nice chunk of experience with face to face selling in retail environments as well as general management.

TL;DR I'm a pretty cool guy. If you PM me I can hook you up with a resume, I'm not 100% sure it would be wise to post straight up on here.

    Thanks and cheers, everyone!

Grew up on the Central Coast of Oregon, lived in Eugene for a short bit and Portland for about 4ish years before getting my Bachelor of Science (BS, ha!) degree in Graphic Design.
Moved here in '04 after the wedding to the ex. I've only had two jobs since I got here, one in Scottsdale as a Graphic Designer for a little electronics parts (think capacitors and resistors) distributor and then got recruited to the place I'm at now which in October will be 11 years.

It's a super long story what I do but the gist is I've made my way up to Sales/Marketing Director for a small emerging technology start up. My company prints LEDs that we've made into about twice the size of a white blood cell. If you want to know more... It's a REALLY long story.

It's not been easy and I've made it through 3 lay off rounds over the years. The last one was in March 2016 when we went from a 55 employee company to a 20 employe company. That was fun. They finally fired the psycho old CEO and we've been working hard to commercializing our product ever since. Our first high volume manufacturing will be this year with roughly 10,000 feet of printed lights.

So that's not such a short story but the long version would bore everyone to death so this is the abridged telling.

I still do freelance design work and lately am apparently king of the taco coma patches here on TW.

TL;DR version: I'm an art fag from a green state who now lives on the surface of the Sun. Ta-da!
