In a climate where your truck is exposed to road salt -- would you choose Bushings or Heims | Why?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on the LT kit.

I'm not concerned with maintenance of a Heim joint, but at the same time I don't want to have to replace them every winter either.

I would like to think if either a Heim or Bushing is maintained and properly lubed (Monthly), you should be able to get 2 years out of them? Anyone with experience with either in a northern climate with excessive snow / and road salt?

What's your experience with your setup?

    Advice?

    Thanks.

Bushings with anti-seize on the bolt is what I do.

You will be replacing them yearly, 18 months max if you don't drive in the snow much. Don't forget shock rod end bearings and whatever your lower arms pivot on.

Currently live about as far north as possible, and lived in the rust belt prior to this.

Bushings will last longer than heims with less / easier maintenance. I disagree with the 18 month assessment above, don't know what his experience is but I am rough on my truck and expose it to very harsh environments. I've gone 3+ years on each set of bushings I've had.

Heims / uniballs are another story. They are about every 18-24 months, depending on environment.

But if you ever bend your frame / coil buckets, you're going to wish you had heimed UCAs.
