Anyone in the market for a 1997 4Runner that a utility pole fell on?

A guy at work (a lineman ironically) had a pole fall on his truck in the parking lot at work last week. The cab is crushed above the rear axle, but not to the point that it couldn't be pushed back up and used as a trail rig, or chop the roof and do a 4Runner pick up. Or do a body swap.

Also, anyone have any experience with rear main seal leaks? I believe mine is leaking. I'll have to pull the skids to investigate further, but when I changed the oil tonight I saw the oil pan is soaked and there's oil above it too. No puddle on the skid plate though so it must just be weeping a bit.

I had my rear main seal replaced... youll notice alot of oil splattered all around up in the fly wheel... you can see it once you pull the skids and look where the trans and engine mate up there is an inspection opening... im not sure what itd cost I want to say around 500 for it to be done by a shop... dch freehold did mine under warranty. But Ill bet if you text Ant hed be down to help as he offered to do mine... and hes off til the 10th so hit him up if thats what it is...

My trans oil pump gasket also went at the same time as the rear main seal so they replaced both...

Thanks Hunter, do you have any pictures of what it looked like?

I just pulled all the skids and sprayed everything with spray nine. Gonna hose it off in a little bit and see if it needs to be sprayed again, then I'll keep an eye on it for a while and see if it keeps leaking.

Mine appeared to be leaking. I was just over 10k since my last oil change.
Changed it, a d have not had it reappear.
I had oil dripping off my trans pan also though.

I don't have a picture but if that picture is BEFORE the spray nine then you definitely are going to want to get it checked ASAP

I had mine replaced under warranty a couple years ago, but the last time I was under there it looked like it was starting to leak again.

I think if yours was faulty, it would have happened a while ago. Its seems like many have failed before 100k

Lol. I used to send out oil samples every oil change and they kept saying go longer distances between oil changes. I was up to 8k miles, but haven't sent out a sample in years so I dropped back to just changing it when the maintenance light comes on.

Mobil one 5w30 synthetic and oem oil filters.

I need an oil change in 800 miles and I'm already itching to do it now.
