Yesterday @JohnBtheZombie and I went exploring in Barstow to find abandoned mines out and around Rainbow Basin in Barstow off the 15 and Ft.Irwin road. We packed a BBQ and a cooler and took off from Main Street in Barstow. Took Irwin road up and through the desert as I plotted view points on my new Garmin Inreach GPS. We overlanded and made our own trails through Rainbow basin for 3 hours and found 3 abandoned mines shafts we headed up to Calico foothills. After some crawling and a couple "minor" recovery moments stuck in soft sand and a risky high-centered manuver moment, we finally got to shoot some guns at sunset and BBQ, then we headed home in the dark. For the first time having a great set of lights on the front bumper of my truck paid off for themselves! Heck out the pix! I know @JohnBtheZombie has some good shots and photos too.

I have to send special thanks out to Ryan @Shmellmopwho for squeezing me in last minute on Friday to do some final fabrication touches on the truck. I put the front bumper to good use while we foraged across the land and grinded the hell out of the sliders! If you are a guy that actually uses your truck and wants a fabricator that's cares about your vehicle as much as you do, look into Shmellfab! And I hope the rewire job helped u too!

Aww shucks. Thanks Greg! I'm glad you're stoked! Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate all your wiring help! I would be riding around with only my left speakers working and no Bluetooth talking available if it weren't for you! So huge help!

Looks like you guys had a fun trip too!!

Minus breaking an endlink on the sway bar and getting hung up on a rock face trying to do the Austin Powers U-turn in the canyon it was a great trip. But I carry all the necessary tools to fix myself out there so no harm no fowl!

Quick shot of "Camp Tacoma" for our morning pancakes and sausage. And one of the technical spots sliding down a rock face. Wish we could have gotten pics of all the oh shit moments but we got so caught up in recovery sharing the moment happened to be an after thought. Winches, maxxtracks, heavy duty tow straps, and shovels are all a must if your out hitting the dirt!
