Sorry, but I have to disagree. Taurus did make a decent pistol, but the fact that they had to recall close to a million of them a couple yrs ago... I'd avoid their newer stuff as well.

Yes, being 18 and going about getting a pistol in CA (especially the way you are saying) is most certainly illegal. Federally actually, if not state. So talk to your uncle/brother about how much you've read good about this particular handgun. And causally mention that he should buy one for himself. That will also allow you to sample it before committing to such a purchase yourself. Hopefully he likes the gun, but if not he would be free to sell or give it away.

That said, it's a garbage law and civil disobedience is the way our founders intended this country to handle garbage legislation...

Uhhhhh in WA you can inherit pistol before 21, or even purchase a pistol second hand private party without a 4473. The local laws where/are very vague for under 21 possession or even ownership to the point that where there's numeral (thousands of) possessors under the age of 21. They've pretty much wrangled that up to become every transaction, exempting family, requires a 4473.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
I've owned a Hi Point C9 before. Only sold it because a buddy wanted to buy it from me. Only issue I had was mag related. Sometimes it wouldn't feed but the gun never gave me issues. Heavy, cheap, blow back design (don't shoot aluminum cased ammo) and trigger was crappy but still I wish to get one again later just to have and toss around the tackle box, garage or in my truck. With that said if you can save a bit more you can get yourself a S&W SD9/40VE. Me personally, with some of the options on the market today, I would opt for say a Canik TP9SF. Those are budget friendly and are decent pistols. I own a TP9SA and of all the poly frame guns I own, the SA has the best trigger from the factory. Also your first handgun purchase will always be one you remember about.
