Basic speaker upgrade. Help please.

    2005 Tan Tacoma Base 5 LUG: Beaten , abused and still running strong.
    Fat Bobs 2.75 lift and level with short AAL, 16x8 Level 8 Guardian Wheels, 245/75R16 Toyo Open Country ATII, custom trans shift kit(home made), Trans temp. and Vac gauge, URD fuel pump upgrade(going back to stock soon).
    So my 05 speakers are showing their age. I'm looking for a quality replacement that does not require a huge investment and an amplifier.
    Any suggestions on speakers to run?

    Crutchfield mentioned Rockford Fosgate Prime
    $70 R165-S Prime 6.5” 2-Way Component Speaker System
    R165-S 6-1/2" Components but I have no experience with them.

    The truck currently has a Pioneer DEH-33HD head unit.

    Also the entire cab has been double layered with metal dampening material with exception to the door skins. They are next on my list.

    Should be fine and I am sure you would be happy with them! Find something with good reviews and a high sensitivity if you will only be powering off your Pioneer deck. Don't go spending big money on anything unless you plan on adding an amp powering them to their full potential.

    Yes, that helps.

    So far I have chosen a few different models both are Rockford Fosgate so far.

    The first is the Punch series
    $100 P1650 Punch 6.5" 2-Way Coaxial Full Range Speaker - Black (Pair)
    P1650 and the other is the Prime series
    $70 R165-S Prime 6.5” 2-Way Component Speaker System
    R165-S. Both have similar sensitivity levels 88 to 89 depending on the certification test. Both have rave reviews as well but the issue I still run into is the lack of base tones.
    If I run the P1650 I will need different tweeters other than the ones attached to the speaker. I was thinking of either the Punch series P1T-S kit or the Prime series
    $37 R1T-S Prime 1" Tweeter Kit (Pair)
    R1T-S.

    The P1650 consumes a minimum of 5 watts RMS and up to 55 watts RMS. As for the tweeters the P1T-S kit consumes a minimum of 6 watts of power. Taking that into consideration it looks like I may need a small amp to drive the speakers to the peak performance. Since I have a single cab I may have to use a 4 channel Amp so I have a port for a small subwoofer. I have seen some small 8 inch package subs that have a built-in amplifier to drive it. I'm not looking for crazy amounts of base to rattle my cab just a clean thump.

    Well I have installed some Rockford Fosgate P165-SI in the truck. My adapters cracked during the installation. Cheap crap from Amazon I guess will do that. Anyway after rigging up the bracket one speaker has absolutely incredible highs and mid base. The clarity is unreal but the speakers are definitely power thirsty. Next will be a small amplifier and I will need to source a compact woofer to place behind the cab.

    Any good sources for speaker adapters for a 05 Regular Cab?
