This fellows suggestion seems to get the most put of a halogen upgrade without maxing the circuit , however the bulbs for now are only available on UK ebay

Because the LED turns on instantaneous, when for example coming home at night and parking, you shift from Drive to Park (automatics only) passing over the reverse gear give it that fraction of a second which isn't enough to engage a halogen bulb, but enough to engage a LED so it looks like a cell phone flash going off. For me, I park in a walled area that is dark so the flash was quite noticeable. It's annoying at the least, some may live with it or never really notice, but for my situation it was not enjoyable.

I've driven halogen reverse light cars my entire life, and they've all flashed when shifting quickly passed reverse.

They may, but not full brightness like an LED can, enough to make a difference.

True, factory look is always nice, but after market isn't so hideous either.

Close your eyes while you shift, simple solution. Or get a manual transmission.
