My USB port also stopped working. I took the truck to the dealer a couple of days ago for other things and they replaced no problem...

Hi. Sorry to hijack your reply....in my 2013 Taco my USB won't recognize music from my flash drive, songs ripped in mp3. Then I tried plugging in my ipod and it doesn't even recognize the device. Any hints would be appreciated.

Be sure your flash drive is formatted FAT32.

When I plug my Iphone 6 into the USB port it charges the the phone fine using the cable that came with the truck. But while it's plugged in I can't play any music from the phone via Bluetooth. I've tried my music from Media Player and the music from the Amazon Prime in the offline mode. Both of which work fine when it's unplugged. Even the steering wheel controls work it. I'll ask next time I"m in for something at the dealer.

I have a 2014 Tacoma DC - I have the same issue with my iPhone 6 (with Apple smart battery case) and the USB port.

I plugged in a iPod nano - no power or connection.

I turned my truck off leaving the iPod connected and then re-started my truck. The iPod started charging immediately and was recognized. I unplugged the iPod and I plugged in my wife's iPhone 6s - it charged and recognized it immediately using a different cable (platinum braided from bestbuy).

I plugged my iPhone in and it is working fine now with the same platinum cable.

I think the issue may be cheap cables as the original cable was a cheap dynex cable from bestbuy. Or just the truck being finicky.
