looking for some good pictures of a set of the cast aluminum running boards on a Double can short bed truck. Didn't see any on the lot but I want to make sure they fit tight to the truck. I'm really more of a rock slider kind of guy but this truck is brand new and won't be leaving the pavement for awhile. These are for the wife and kid to get in and out easier. I just don't like the look of the tube steps or how low they sit off the truck. Thanks!

Thanks! Are you satisfied with how tight they fit against the body? And do they stick out far enough to keep the jackasses' doors in parking lots off of my truck?

Yes! It's good for me for now. And yes for other inconsiderate drivers who parked next to us.

Good deal. You planning on going with an actual slider next?

Here's my old 99 and my new 17. Just brought it home last night.

Yes going to put on some rock sliders on in couple of weeks and hopefully sale these. I have an FJ cruiser that is being built for serious trail runs. Hopefully this summer it will be done so I can take it Moab.

I have a friend who owns Mercenary off road and does fab work. I've know him for almost 20 yrs. He will make my rock sliders. He already made a template of what I want. Once it's cut and tack on and bent it will be line-x.

That's cool. I had one of the very first sets of the CBI Off-road heavy duty sliders with kickouts on my 99. They might have even been the first set with kickouts. Loved those things and they were nearly indestructible. I slammed the entire weight of the truck down on them numerous times on rocks and barely scratched them. Awesome stuff. What material is he making them out of?

According to our plans it will be all steel tubing with fill plates maybe 3/16 or 1/4 depends how stupid strong I want it. Underneath the fill plates will be hard plastic so it will slide and not a hard thump like when u hit a rock. Will take pix to show u afterwards when I get them.
