There is a nice looking Tacoma on Ebay located at

Auto By Design, 25280 Pleasant Valley Rd #100, Chantilly, VA, 20152

I am interested in this truck but I am in Texas. If someone lived in the area it would cool if he/she could take a look at this truck just to see if it is in the condition as described. I would fly up and drive it back.

I live about 4 miles from where this place is located. I can swing by and take a peek for you. Which one are you interested in? I see two listed on their ebay site: A silver one and a Barcelona red one.

OP these are the ones I'm seeing. Based on the pics, neither are long bed and they've incorrectly listed the Mag Gray one as an SR5 (where you may stand to have some savings). What I'm not understanding is how these end up being a good deal for you, especially good enough where they're worth a flight, gas back, your time and the sales tax on vehicles in VA.

These are just a couple grand of a brand new truck from the actual Toyota dealer. Maybe it's just me, but I tend not to trust the smaller used car dealers unless I'm looking for something special.

Thanks for the input was just curious about the truck. I have a house in PA and need to get up that way anyway. Would have paid taxes in Texas. Thanks. Trucks in Texas sell for quite a bit more.

    Doing more research...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/
Invoice on that one as optioned should be at about $33,832 in your region (that includes the truck, the tow package which is essentially on all of them, figure about 100 for the weather techs they show, and another grand for the delivery fee for gulf states region). Slightly less if you buy new in PA due to a cheaper delivery fee. New means you get a power rear sliding window as well, and ALL of the factory Toyota warranty (which both of these have exceeded). These aren't Toyota Certified Pre-Owned either.

Not that you asked, but I wouldn't do it.

Yes, you are probably right; appreciate the information. The only inventory in Texas and surrounding states is the Double Cab short bed. I saw one off road Double Cab Long bed down here (only one) it was selling for 38k sticker price. Anything else other than DBL CAB/Short Bed has to be special ordered and takes 3 to 6 months to get. The main thing is I want a long bed; the short bed does nothing for me. I have an FJ with about the same cargo space as a short bed Tacoma.

I am currently in Deep South Texas ( 8 hours drive South of Houston) I am in the process of moving from PA where I own a house I have been passing the winter in Texas. I need to go back sometime and pack up and move and plan on driving back. I the weather in PA is still cold, snowy ect; not good moving weather. So, in the meantime I am looking for the best deal. I just found one Truck used with 10,000 miles at a Houston Area dealership. I want the TRD OFF Road Access cab which are very hard to find here without having to special order.

I would not settle for anything other than your TRD OR access cab, or even buying used at this point. The resale value is so high that you'll only be saving a couple grand tops. Not worth it imo. I would do a nationwide search on cars.com or something similar, find exactly what you want and fly out there if needed. Good luck!

Please don't pay $32k for a used Taco with 30k miles on it that's mislabeled (is a SB vs. LB AND appears to be OR vs. an SR5). For ~$35 you can get a brand new '17 - about the same truck, couple of add'l features such as matching lock for the tailgate and power sliding rear window. You may end up with some negotiating room, but I think you'd be better off finding (or even ordering) something local.

Plus, if you live in TX, salt isn't much of an issue for you. This thing may not have been well taken care of and has a winter or 2 of northerly salt and brine wear and tear you wouldn't face nearly as much in TX

JDUBSS - I have to agree with the other posters on the dealership and the price. To be honest, I dont see any real deals to be had with used tacos. I looked for a full year, constantly raising my range up from a starting point of $15k for a nice 2nd gen (laughable) and finally when I got to $25k and was still seeing trucks with close to 100k miles on them (albeit in good shape) I finally just decided to buy new.

For me, it was between the TRD OR and TRD Sport Access cab, because like yourself, I wanted the long bed and I don't particularly need two 4-door vehicles. The price difference between the TRD OR and Sport was less than $1k. I got my Sport for $33k OTD from Priority Toyota in Springfield, VA. I only mention that because they have a 2017 TRD OR Access Cab in stock right now (only 1) and they have it listed for $35k. I feel quite confident you could drive it away for $33k and have the piece of mind of having bought new and got what you want. For planning purposes, Priority is close to DC right near the capital beltway. You could fly into DCA and take an uber there. (FYI - I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just did a quick internet search)

But either way man, if you really like that grey one at the dealer in Chantilly, I can swing by. Always willing to help out.
