Zip tie it all the way up and you're good to go. If your rear brakes are newer and correctly adjusted, all four tires will lock up at the same time if you hammer the brakes with it all the way up.

The budget must be really low 'cause you can get one relatively cheap from Summit :D

Having said that...I still need to get one myself lol. Still haven't figured out what to do with my brakes. Need to do a 1ton conversion and not sure what direction to go yet in terms of matching chevy parts or going with T100 parts altogether.

    That's what I did :D

Not the best picture ....but you almost already have all the parts you need.

I took the factory eyelet on the axle side, took a die to the same factory thread pitch and used that to be an adjustable bpv.

All I needed were two nuts iirc (10mm x 1.25 or 1.50) and a small metal L bracket (bolts to frame-side bpv) with 3 holes drilled.

    20160701_154542.jpg

Loosen both nuts, thread top nut up or down, then tighten bottom nut.

Nice. I might do that instead of a manual bpsv if I notice a positive effect. Just zip tied it for now.

Anyone tried a cutting brake on their Tacoma? I know my turning radius is gonna suck and thought I might try one to help out in tight spots

This is where having real twin sticks like with an Atlas or Dana 300 comes handy (front digs!) Just disconnect the rear drive line and send power to the front wheels only. Best way to maneuver around a really tight spot.

I was wanting to lock either the left or right rear tires to help turn left or right. I was hoping with a selectable locker like an ARB I could unlock the rear, lock the front, lock the tire on the side I wanted to turn and pivot around that tire, At leastr somewhat. I've never played with them, do they not function this way?

Are you asking that question about the Atlas or the cutting break thing? I do not have experience with the cutting break option.

With the Atlas, one stick sends power to the front axle with Hi-N-Lo options, and the other stick sends power to the rear axle with Hi-N-Lo as well; vs the typical toyota twin stick set up in which one stick controls hi/low and the other one controls 2WD/4WD.

The Atlas configuration - which is the same as the Dana 300 - is really the way to go with twin sticks IMHO, because it splits the drive line and you can control each axle independently. "Front digs" [front axle only] is really a popular option when people are in tight turning spots. But you cannot select to lock individual tires. The Atlas is not that great :D

this ^^^^ so true. I can do front digs and use a line lock for the rear brakes to swing the truck around if needed. Rarely used but way cool

I was refering to the cutting brake. Atlas is in my future but it's still a year+ out when I LSx swap. The Tcase looks like it'll cost me as much as the engine and trans

    https://www.amazon.com/CUTTING-BRAKE-SINGLE-dune-buggy/dp/B003LJ10YC

Here's a cutting brake. THey're common on dune buggies. One line in and two out. Pulling the lever cuts flow to one side, locking the opposite side brake. I think they use them in drift cars as well. My thought was if I wanna turn tight driver, like on a switchback, with the rear ARB unlocked (if I get an ARB) unlock the rear, lock the front, turn driver, pull the handleto lock the driver side rear and drive forward. with the drivers rear locked up, hopefully the truck tries to rotate around that tire, making a better turning radius.

Just an idea I thought of since we're running new brake lines anyhow. But I didn't know if anyone had tried it. Being able to engage only the front might make it work better, I'm not sure. That;s why I figured I'd ask

Walked away without a scratch. It'll be more of a firewall buggy since the roof is pretty caved in and the cab is fucked.
