Wenatchee (or close to) members?

Any of you here? I'm moving to the area and June and am looking to get some local insight/tips. You know, what neighborhoods to stay out of, which schools to aim for, etc.
I've heard from a couple people that Cashmere is the place to be, but rentals seem to be non-existent.

It will just be a temporary thing. A year, two at most. My wife has an internship to do.
