Sucks to be the person that drove into that slop with street tires... Sucks more to be the one to draw the short straw to install the claws.

I've bought, and used, the Trac Grabbers with good results, and excellent customer service.

Just saying, and they're cheaper too.

Depends. They're technically a universal fit, but if you have larger tires and don't have sufficient fender clearance, these things would royally tear up your bodywork.

I have *giant* 32" tires on my truck, and these probably wouldn't clear my fenders - would definitely tear my mud flaps off.

It's nice they recommend you install this device on the rear wheels for real wheel drive vehicles, and on the front for front wheel drive vehicles.

I think this is a great product for specific situations. Last weekend we had a party at my brother in laws and we always park on the grass behind the tree line. One couple parked their minivan on what was dry grass but when they pulled forward the last 5 feet you could see the tires sink. This would have been awesome vs trying to push it out. (Somehow I have misplaced my tow strap).

I think even if I had these things, I'd opt for a tow before I broke these things out. But if no one is getting traction, that's when you break out the video camera.

If you're alone, these might be what save you from walking.

I've got a set of these leftover from my Subaru days. Test fitted with 265/70r17s on my Taco and they look like they should work without clearance issues.

People have been doing this with a 2x4 and a ratchet strap for a long time.
