"phone mount" would tend to give more specific results. Also helps if you limit the search to the 3rd gen forum and specify that it display as threads rather than posts.

both of those are great. i like everything about the Hondo except the loss of full vent control. i'm seeing a need for that control come summer here in north Texas.

Hondo garage is the way to go for sure. Get the phone wire clips and radio knobs while you are at it. You won't regret it.

Hondo mount with magnetic round base. Have a ultra thin sticky back magnet on my phone under my case and it still works great and holds over rough terrain.

I use the Scosche as well and love it. I mounted it right below the tuner knob (had to trim the base about 1/8"

Ill try and remember to take a few pictures tonight. In case anyone isnt aware, you bond a magnet to your phone, and from there the dash mount is magnetic. simply place it there and it sticks.

For clarity, the Scosche MagicMount comes with a thin ferrous metal plate that you can either bond to your phone or place under a thin phone case. I used that for a while on prior vehicles and it never damaged the finish. Worked well.

Other folks have mounted the Scosche base to the top of the trim near the vent; I didn't like having the phone up that high but it's a good spot. It mounts using VHB tape. For $15 it's a pretty good solution.

(it's the foundation of my Qi charging magnetic frankenmount)

This is what I'm thinking of getting as I need to have the vent fee for adjustable use in the summer.
