It whines when I give it any sort of gas, even if I keep my boost gauge below zero. I guess technically it's always very slightly in boost.

Technically only delivering boost to combustion chambers when you are at 0 or higher boost/vacuum, the rest of time the blow off valve is open.

Getting a used ecu delivered Tuesday...

I have noticed the higher the boost, the higher pitch the whine gets.

im getting 7 easy, but i have 2.825 pulley, i think i have to throw away stock intake to get better psi
but i will wait for some hood damage to replace it with fiberglass hood with actual scoop and after that i will install CAI

Well after replacing the ecu feels like it has a lot more balls and afr doesn't run as rich as before. So who can I borrow the mongoose cable from to reprogram the vin?

It's starting to bother the hell out of me. Now keep in mind that it's only at 1K RPMs. When pressing on the accelerator on the way to full throttle it's a very small and brief noise. The video is with the engine being held at 1k RPMs to show the noise.

It sounds like a fan noise but it's not coming from the fan. It sounds to be coming from the supercharger or the engine itself. And it only does it after the engine has warmed up to normal operating temp.

How's your fan mounting? Tight and straight? No any rust between the fan/pulley or the pulley/waterpump?

Btw. Are all Tacomas equipped with the engine oil cooler?

I can't tell where it's coming from. My suggestion would be to get something to hold the pedal down so you can keep it at 1k and get a stethoscope and start probing around.

Place this adjustable hood prop between the seat and the gas pedal and set it to the RPM it makes the noise at:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002BC0T6

Use this stethoscope to probe around in the engine bay until you can locate the source of the noise:

Hmm good idea. I usually have someone help me bc it only happens when the truck is in Drive. Doesn't happen in neutral.

Yea everything seems fine with the fan. There is a very minute maybe .001" of wiggle in the fan. The fan mount doesnt move. Just the plastic blades.

No I don't think all of them are equipped with the oil cooler. Just some models.
