Driving pet peeves

Getting stuck behind any vehicle from "All Threes Taxi," especially at night, because of their damn flashing brake lights... Amplify the annoyance factor by 110% when you get stuck behind an "All Threes" vehicle for 30 minutes at a DUI checkpoint on Saint Patrick's Day!

 

Left lane slow drivers. Cause they are talking on cell phone. And cannot maintain speed,
People who don't let you merge they don't move over. Or the speed up to cut you off
And when you have a safe distance from the car in front of you. People pull into the gap and then ride the bake peddle

 

Assholes that turn left when the light goes green cutting off the people going straight with the right of way.

 

One of my friends got pulled over for absentmindedly doing that to commercial truck, but he only got a warning because he had a clean driving record.

 

Rolling Coal douchenozzles!

 

When I'm at various car and truck shows, I'm guilty of encouraging drivers of diesel trucks to roll coal so I can get pictures/video of it. I also wouldn't mind rolling coal on a tailgater.

 

People who ride in the left lane, and refuse to get over.. Probably one of the main reasons for road rage period... HATE IT!

 

Md didnt have a rule for left lane for passing only...so any jackwad could clog up the left lane... I almost slammed into someone in a new vw bug going 35-40mph in the left lane as Im driving up to her bumper going 60.

 

People who ignore the fact that they have the right of way in an effort to "be nice".

All they accomplish is making everything go slower because they just confuse me by not going first and waving me on.

 

The thing I've noticed most of all, this coming from a guy who hasn't owned a truck in 14 years is I have space to change lanes, I throw on my blinker and I swear the person I'm about to get in front of starts to speed up and close the gap.

 

This is pretty common from
New Jersey drivers when they're in other states. I don't know why this is...

 

It is everywhere.. It's bc people are idiots and have zero consideration for other people trying to get where they need or want to go or be.. They also don't know or care that it's a law to move over (at least in some states, probably most if not all, I'd be surprised if not)...

I truly believe road rage would fall dramatically if that alone would stop.

 

Well that's the part that kills me about jersey people. It's illegal to use the left lane for anything but passing so they go into PA and just cruise there. My assumption is its their way of doing something they're typically not allowed to to?

That's weird that PA doesn't have that law.. But I doubt it'd matter anyway.. Just like everywhere else..

All I know is I hate it, It should be drilled into everyones head before them ever being issued a license... Troopers should be on the news every single night talking about it. Still probably wouldn't do any good.

 

Yep, I see this every day in Boulder. Typically if a pedestrian is even near the intersection people stop for them even if they won't be in the path of the driver for 10-15 seconds. If I'm a pedestrian I am typically flagging people to go instead of wait for me because I am not in their way.

People that don't turn left until all the people turning left from the other direction pass, when it is obviously 2 opposing left turn lanes. No one is going straight so get moving!

 

^ it's typically illegal to make a turn through the crosswalk when a pedestrian is on it regardless of their location in relation to the vehicle.

 

I second the theory of safe distance from the car in front of you.When in traffic you try to leave space from the car in front of you and every idiot tries to squeeze in because there is space and they think they can get ahead.

 

Some states that is true. The law is typically if the pedestrian is in the same side of the roadway you yield. Turning right onto a 5 lane road while a pedestrian beginning to cross 5 lanes away doesn't not require waiting.

 

I'll frequently have someone stop in front of me to let someone get out of a side street. There's nobody behind me, so they are just wasting everyone's time by stopping. Had they just kept going, the other person could have gotten behind me and it would have been the same amount of time for them.

 

My absolute biggest peeve is people who'll pull out right in front of you, and then not do the speed limit. They're essentially cutting you off continuously for however long it takes to get someplace that you can pass them.
