IIRC talking with a structural PE last year or the year before, flat or low rise roofs actually have a better snow rating than traditional style roofs because of the characteristics of snow blowing off the flat surface and not accumulating.

I could be getting parts of it wrong, again that is just what I remember...

Got the dewalt rack finished. As shown cost me 300 which includes the rack and all the cases. Not bad.

Thats why you have your roof framing designed to code or by a structural engineer

    Very nice!

Custom/DIY rack or something Dewalt makes? We have several cases and this would be nice.

    Calling all electricians. Again.

Pulled down and old (ugly) ceiling fan w/light and am replacing it with a fan w/light.

Wires from ceiling are red, black, white, bare copper.

New fan has black, white (and a green short wire, attached to base plate.)

    So is it
    Black to black
    White to white
    Green to copper
    Cap off the red?

Note: old fan had pull chains AND could be turned on/off from two different location switches. This fan can be powered by a single switch, but has a remote. (According to the manual)

Your red old wire can be abandoned in place with a wire nut and tape on both ends, just as you stated. You're right on the money.

Frame according to plan. We can't do anything around these parts without an approved architectural plan.

Yup, we wing it! Your ice fishing shanty's are built better than our shit;). Sometimes I just go outside and try to guess how much my roof has sagged. It's a game we play around these parts.

It's very uncommon to see it here...that's all, but we also do not use lam beams to carry a roof. We use them over large load bearing spans...just not roofs. Plus if we had that low of a pitch it would reak havoc on the architectural shingles we commonly use here. Actually, at that pitch, you have to use metal or rubber in PA.
