Body lift bumper space

Will i have a gap between my bumper if i put a 1-2 inch body lift on my 2012 tacoma?

 

between your bumper and what?

 

yes, unless you raise bumper. 1" you can stretch the stock one some and make it look right, 2" = gap unless you modify

 

bumper is mostly on frame, so it isnt raised with the rest of the truck in a body lift

Figured its implied since he cant actually have a gap in the bumper itself. Not about to have a dick measuring contest with you Large. Just trying to help the guy out.

 

I think you're wrong. The plastic bumper cover (also called the bumper sometimes) is attached to the body, not the frame. If he had a plate bumper, there would be a gap between the grill and the plate bumper since it mounts to the frame.

9:30 minute mark .. puts bumper back on, no gap.

 

The rear bumper is attached to the frame. I honestly dont remember how a stock front bumper cover is attached but I do remember other members having a gap after the bodylift. Plus i've done a body lift on my tacoma and had a gap that required modification.

 

Rear bumper yes, there will be a gap for sure. Front bumper no. Either way I always recommend against a BL if you can.

 

I recommend against going over a 1" body lift, and IF you're gonna do it, upgrade to grade 8 hardware

 

Im pretty sure he added a new bumper bracket that modified the height. My only concern is if im going to have to add a new bracket anyway i could just go ahead and do a bigger body lift. i already got a 3 inch suspension lift.

 

Thinking sbout a 1inch body lift too. With aftermarket front bumper there will be a gap, no gap on front with stock. Rear there will be a gap however big your body lift is off the frame unless u Ninja-Rig it (weld fabricate new brackets)

 

If you are going to weld stuff to make your body lift fit...you should probably reconsider some life choices that brought you to that point.

 

as others have said, no gap on the front, 1" gap on the back. 1" body lifts are great setups to help get a little more tire clearance and other things.

 

Hey man body lifts arent for everybody -or this thread apparently! Some people dont wanna trim to fit bigger tires either. Different strokes...whatever anybody else does or doesnt wanna do to their truck is no sweat off my balls, but why people intentionally bash whatever thread is about is strange to me. I get it most people dont like the idea of a body lift, I fig a 1" body lift is minimal , and adding that to a 3" suspension lift might be what SOME people are seriously considering . Would i have regrets if i did it... Who knows? But would I want to hear what others that actually have it say something INFORMATIVE whether it be good or bad...YES!

 

What do people do to fit the front bumper reinforcement after a 2 inch body lift. Its pushed against the front bumper cover and doesnt fit correctly. Does anyone sell an adapter bracket to bring the front bumper reinforcement up an inch or two?

 

Anybody sell custom brackets to raise my reinforcement bar 2 inches doesnt fit with this body lift.
