    All,

I have a 2013 SR5 I bought about 3 weeks ago from a dealer. I was told they changed the oil at 19,300 miles at the dealership. At about 19,650 miles the MAINT REQD light started flashing. I was under the impression they simply did not reset the light when they changed the oil. I'm now over 20,000 miles and the light is staying on constantly. I have tried the reset sequence on YouTube but it's not working. Any ideas would be great.

    Thank you.

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure it can't be reset until it comes on. So, I would have to assume they took the truck in on trade and changed the oil as part of their pre-sale reconditioning and now you are seeing the light. You can either reset it and call it good or if you really want peace of mind, change the oil yourself (or pay to have it changed) now and reset it.

My 2014 can be reset anytime. Are you on trip A when you try to reset it?

I was on the ODO screen. I thought I would be able to reset it any time. I also hooked up an OBD reader and I don't read any codes.

Put it on 'Trip A' and shut it off. While holding the reset button down turn the key on but don't start the engine. You'll see the line start to disappear to zero and it will be reset....easy peezy!

Set the odometer to trip A, turn the key off. HOLD DOWN the button, and turn the key back ON. The 5 digits should flash, and turn off one at a time. When done, let go of the button and turn the key off. See if that works

^^^This is how I reset the light in my '13. You can do it anytime - light doesn't have to be on.
