Has this ever happened to anyone? I found a screw in the shoulder of my new tires this weekend so I called Discount Tire and they ordered me a free replacement because of the warranty. I was there this afternoon for them to swap it out and when I walked out to leave I inspected the wheel and found this!

    IMG_0440.jpg IMG_0441.jpg

The manager claimed that it is impossible for that to happen when swapping tires but I know for a damn fact the wheels were flawless when I got there. (Dirty, but damage free) I know this because when I found the screw on Saturday my first thought was to inspect every wheel and tire to be sure there was nothing else.

We argued back and forth because he wasn't going to take responsibility and I know for a fact they caused it.

After a few minutes of talking about it and going through their process as well as talking to the tech, he finally said "fuck it, do you want a new wheel? I'll buy you the wheel if that's what you want but I'm telling you this didn't happen from us"

That's literally all I wanted to hear him say.

So I made a deal with him so I could have a full size spare, he gave me a brand new wheel and another new tire at 50% off.

$175 for a new Method 17x9 and General Grabber 265/70

I figured this is roughly the same cost for a new tire mounted with the warranty if he had given me a wheel for free anyway.

It's very easy for them to argue it wasn't their fault when your wheels are that dirty. I always bring my truck in spotless when I take it in for anything. The techs are usually more careful because they know you care for your vehicle. It's also harder to argue it was already there when your vehicle is spotless.

I was thinking about washing it before I went in but the weather has been so rainy here plus all the sand on the roads it would've been pointless lol.

No offense but it looks like it's been there for a while. Scar looks like bare metal that's already taken in water.

Discount Tire has really good customer relations. I had a run around with them around a year or so. They took care of the issue and I was pleased at how they handled the situation. Shit happens though

I do the same all the time, and it doesn't really work. Most of the people that work in all those chain places ( a least the ones that I came across) they don't give a shit about the vehicle, they are not proud of what they do and they are in just for the money. And the worst of them all it's the stealership.

I've experienced the opposite with my truck here in HB, they are always complimenting it/careful with it.
