Well thought I'd start a separate thread for this common Taco issue. I had been reading about all of the thoughts for the noise I was hearing on my 2006 SR5 double cab, long bed. The several opinions seemed to center on the droning noise I would hear at 47 mph was front hubs. However, some of you that replaced the hubs still had a noise. Well I finally ordered hubs for my 2WD from Bill at Bumper 2 Bumper who did a great job of getting them to me quickly. My one concern was changing them out, so I wimped out and had my mechanic do the job. Watching him do them it was as easy as some of the videos show it to be, especially due to the 2WD not having an axle nut.

On the test ride we discovered the noise was still there. We then rotated the tires front to back and the noise followed. So seems my noise is from the 5 year old Michelin's I have. If the bearings/hubs I had were original I'd say, needs it sooner than later and leave them. After research I thought I had done, I found the receipt that showed I had the bearings done a couple of years earlier. So with all of that we have taken the new hubs off and re-installed the old set. I'll live with the tire noise since the Michelins have 60K on them. So I'd suggest rotating your tires first, much cheaper than doing bearings first.

So the set I have that basically brand new need to find a new home and I am glad to make a great deal for one of my fellow forum members. Again just purchased on February 24, 2017. They fit 4X2 Toyota (Fits 2003-2015 Tacoma Prerunner, 2003-2015 4Runner, 2007-2014 FJ Crusier, 2010-2016 Lexus GX-460. The price I paid was $556, I would be glad to make one of you a deal of $440 for the set including freight in the continental US.

OK, so I'd rather cut my losses and take my beating sooner than later on these hubs. A Tacoma Owner's Forum Special, $390.00 for the pair including shipping. They are in the box they were shipped to me and ready to go, no waiting!
