Gimme a good day trip, Portland OR area

I have a day to kill near Portland OR tomorrow. Looking to get out and explore. I've previously done the CRG and the waterfalls and banged around on some fun gravel just south of old US 30, criss crossed the river, but other than that I don't have any real knowledge of the area. Looking for scenic gravel, light trails, or neat stuff off the beaten path that I can get to and back in a full day of driving. Thinking Mount Saint Helens and area but I'd love to hear suggestions from locals...?

No, I don't require anyone else to direct me, but I like to keep my ears - and options - open.
