Old Auto trader was like porn for me.
Every week new cars and trucks to look at. Now days you can do the online trader. Just not the same as getting the ink on your fingers.
Now we have Craig's list. Half of the people are trying to scam you. Please give me your PayPal account so I can send payment. And that's without asking a single question about what your selling.
Some want to trade you cash a car and a gun. Or just a gun. I had a guy convinced his AR223 was worth
15K. Yes that says 15K he wanted me to give him my FJ55 and 8 cash for his AR. How do you put a rig up for sale and have someone telling you that you owe them money. I can't make this sssstuffff up.
I am just venting ha ha. I Posted my taco for sale on Craigslist. And the asshats are coming out of the wood work

Good luck with Taco sale. Craigslist can be a total shit show. I mostly agree on the paper autotrader. I haven't thought about those in a long time.

I always liked them too, we have some kind of similar car paper still available but its full of auto dealers, boats, and big rigs.

When I sold my Subaru I skipped the craigslist BS and went to the KBB instant cash offer.

I had 6 dealers contact me within 30 minutes of filling out the form and sold it for more than the minimum I had predetermined that I would accept.

No listing BS, no strangers coming to kick the tires, and a valid check from a dealer that cashed with no worries.

    Give it a try.

You might be surprised what your Taco will bring and there's no obligation if you don't like it.

Mine was maybe $1500 less than what I could have gotten for it privately.

Worth it to me for zero hassle.

Every time I sell something on CL I get about a dozen Shitheads but there's always that one guy who shows up with the money and makes it all worth it.
I totally agree with OP about missing the magazine. I used to pick them up every week and read in my down times.

I bought my second car, a 1973 Volkswagen 412 off an Autotrader ad in 1997. When we got to the house to pick it up, check in hand, the guy said "oh, we were looking for $2000." Well, the ad said $1,000 and I walked away with it for that price. I loved that car but my god did it throw fanbelts left and right. It was eventually stolen, perfect original leather interior and immaculate original paint job. I'm sure it's rusting away somewhere fantastic.

Some of you must be related to Joe Dirt. This may be a SoCal thing, but the Recycler was my favorite
