Does anyone have any solutions for fixing a broken tab on a headlight?
Or is anyone selling their stock headlight?
Or is it possible to order just the plastic piece of the headlight assembly?
I broke the top tab changing my stock halogens to LEDs..... FML

Picture included to prove my stupidity!!

    Thanks in advance!

Zip ties are your friend until you can get a new one......can you drill a hole in the light tab and run a zip tie through it and the frame hole right behind light?

Depending on the thickness of material, and possibly the ease of reinforcing it with some other material, JB Weld is your friend. I was replacing and fixing a lot of small broken plastic interior shit in my wife's POS Jetta using JB Weld. Some succeeded, some did not. Notably, where the piece failed again upon reinstallation, it was the original plastic farther beyond the JB Weld repairs that broke.

Edit: hard to tell from your pics, but you may be able to use a small piece of aluminum angle behind the two pieces as reinforcement with the JB Weld holding it all together.

I'd try JB Weld first before replacement, those guys are not cheap. If I had to guess, you'd be looking at $250 per side (give or take) for an OEM housing. Worst case you spend it anyway, best case you don't have to.

Worst case scenario if any of the above suggestions don't help, I'm sure you can get a creatively affordable replacement on ebay.

Most of the headlamps have repair tabs available, but the Tacoma doesn't
I would not even bother with trying to fix it.
It's secured under the bumper at the fender and at the other tab.

I think the aluminum may work better than JB weld. I will consider everyone's input and keep everyone posted.

As you mentioned it is pretty solid how it is due to the other tabs. My concern would be wearing other mounts/tabs over time........

I would try and glue it and not my fingers together. And not drive the Truck for at least 24 hours in order for everything to set.

I fabricated a tab for a similar situation on a 2nd gen, once. Used a small piece of aluminum about 1 1/4 wide, length is depending on how far apart the attach points are, and bent it into a Z shape. Attached to original tab bolt and used a self tapping screw into the black part of headlight assy. Don't have that truck any longer, so can't furnish a picture. But, even without that tab, that headlight isn't going anywhere.

But if you hear of one for sale, please keep me posted.

Any updates on this? I'm going to attempt to make a couple aluminum tabs next weekend.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
Fiber-Fix from home depot works. I had the same issue on 3 tabs on my passenger headlight because of some trail damage. I used the Fiber-Fix wrap and its been holding for almost 10 months now. Just have to make sure that you wrap it tight and let it dry before applying any force to it.
