Yeah, 4 regular days, 3 OT days, and then 1 day off to switch to nights. I'm on a 4 on 4 off schedule alternating days and nights. It's wonderful.

Wow. Hadn't really seen that rotation before. Closest I guess is the DuPont rotation. Is that always the schedule? Is the wonderful comment sarcasm:D

Yeah it takes a bit to get used to. I still lose a day coming off of nights to transition to days. Very much sarcasm lol

Ha. I figured, but it's tough to tell on the interwebz. That does seem to be a rough transitioning schedule. Although I kind of do it on a smaller scale now. 3 on, 4 off, 4 on, 3 off. All night shift (on) and off is off. so twice a week sleep schedule flipping. On my days off, I still stay up til at least midnight though.

Shew I'm glad where I'm at you either work days or nights. Occasionally I'll get asked to come in for 4-6 on day shift if the line isn't running to help with PM's. but never asked to actually work a day shift like a normal day. I can't transition like that haha

I'm with you. I occasionally will cover a weekend day shift if I'm not working the night prior obviously. Weird to work days, even on the weekends. I'm sure I could get used to it, but the loss of differential pay would sting.

Yeah I don't make a ton more for nights, maybe 40 bucks a week. But that 40 bucks adds up quicker than people think.

Is that a 24 hour off? That's a lot of flipping.

We argued the point, we earned it working 3rd we should get it when we use it. I also pointed out that when you work 3rd shift if you only take 1-2 days off you need to stay on shift, or you risk injury or illness. They didn't see our way of thinking:(

Na, 24 on after 2 12 days and before 2 12 nights. We have beds, sheets, blankets and pillows so it's not bad at all

We also get a day off every third shift, 10 holidays a year that we can use anytime and a month vacation. Mines in June this year and I'm taking the boat to canyon lake for a week to the lake front house we rented.

Had to verify, but we do get Diff on PTO. They never see your way of thinking because "they" usually work Day hours...

    That sounds a bit better.

Canyon Lake is where we prefer to go. Nice lake with lots of coves and open areas all around. Docks have been easy to load/unload and never really overcrowded. And, it's not too far from us without having to drive into or through Austin.

That's good to know, I was a bit concerned since I've never been there. The house we rented is quite nice though.

We even went there on the 4th of July and was surprisingly easy and quick. No lines to load or unload. Got there at 10 am and left at 1600 roughly.

I've read there are only a couple of launches on the lake. We are staying like a mile from one, hopefully it's the same one you use.

Here's where we go. Jacob's Creek park. There is a dual ramp on the West side of the circled area. The ramps are really wide enough for three experienced boaters, so normally two at most :D:D We've been over almost every single spot on the lake but only launched from the circled spot. We've seen more ramps but they are small and overpopulated. Down near the damn just by Overlook Park on the map is some rocks, if you boat to, you can climb and jump ~10-15 feet into the lake. The big fingers on the north side and west section are great for water-sports if it get's real choppy (windy) due to the hills on the sides. There is a marina and boat yard somewhere on the north there as well and that ramp area is pretty crowded but flows quickly enough. Hope that's some good info for ya:rofl: If you need anything else, just let me know. Do you know what section you're staying at?
