Transmission range sensor

I have been having problems with my 2008 Tacoma. The check engine light coded the transmission range sensor. My mechanic put a new one on. It worked fine for about 3 weeks, Then it started dying and hard to start, then again the check engine light came on, it coded as a cam shaft sensor, then it code again transmission range sensor. Replaced It again. It has been about 2 weeks dying again when I put it in park. I was wondering if anybody has had this type of problem ever.

 

I would ensure that ALL codes were pulled and addressed and that the mechanic didn't use junk parts.

Not sure if the tsb will fix you up , hopefully it helps with the diagnostics . Its a shame your mechanic didn't take the time out to look for this TSB or at least have an information system available to him to check for latest tsb,s
