He doesnt have the product. The payment was for the service of providing the product from the manufacturer. No goods changed hands yet. If they ran off with his money then this would be a completely different story. Taking someones money as you said gives off a different tone. He CAN get his money back. Its not stolen.

So you think I shouldnt shop on Amazon or Best Buy anymore because they didnt honor their advertised price and voided my order?

Would at least be nice to know actual vendor @Reklov so I can to avoid purchasing in the future because if they aren't willing to sell it to you because they made a mistake, then they shouldn't be in business... Everyone makes mistakes, it's the ones willing to own up to it that you should stick with. Even if you don't want personal payback towards them, I'm only a phone call away from getting code enforcement in there, who would have a total field day BTW, being most shops here in town don't like to follow rules and have many infractions waiting to be caught

Useless information for the day: Typically that happens because they still need the plane that the destination location, or that plane is still transporting goods/services etc. It's usually called "empty leg", more common with private jets:

End of the day, take the emotions out of it and buy from whoever gives you the best price. Bait-&-switch or not, if you can't buy the rack elsewhere for $816, then go with them.

TAP doesn't advertise the rack on its web site. Maybe it isn't the same company?

 

On this topic..kinda.. if another group buy does develop - SOMEBODY FIND ME!

 

Most if not all online retailers have a clause protecting against price errors. Usually my orders that are too good to be true are refunded pretty quick with no response but we noticed a mistake sorry. I wouldn't call it shady or not reputable. Nice they are offering a deal but if you can get it cheaper somewhere else, tell them. They may match it.

 

Was it MRT? Same as TAP, btw.. they're both banned from this forum for lying/taking money/etc,.

At least compare apples to apples... It would be like you going to the door saying its 1,000 and signing and paying a 1,000 then afterward come back saying oh it was a mistake. Mistakes happen but you have to own up to a contract once written.

I work at an EPC company and am responsible for million dollar packages (mostly pressure vessel equipment for refineries). Guess what... if a supplier signs a contract that requires an exchange of goods for money they legally have to provide it. There in no way in hell Im going back to the client saying we need hundreds of thousands of dollars for a change order bc the supplier incorrectly budgeted. I've seen companies go bankrupt bc they bought the wrong material or didn't read our specification for requirements and end up costing much more. If they do not do right then they are blacklisted for ever doing work for us again and thats across most EPC companies. Simply as that...
