Yeah the guys at napa seemed to have a hard time getting me the lift capacity for the ones they had on the shelf. Should be on the label. What a concept, inform the customer of what they are buying. Anyway, I have one that is rated for 194 lbs so I'm going to see if that can handle the 180 and change tent effectively. What rating did you use?

    HOLY FAWK!

dude that is WAY to much haha.

Mine are 80lbs each. Uses two for the side lift and i can BARELY pull it down from the side. I usually just jump up there and stand on it haha

I bought mine through a cool site that had all kinds.

If i were to do it again. Id go for 50lb ones. 100lbs total.

    I got mine from here

    https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/

My issues was extended length as mine are vertical not angled so i had to get ones a certain length and they only came in 80lbs. You'll want much less due to the angle. The leverage will help.

Have you found that lift struts loose something in the cold?

they generally do yes. Just like shocks on your truck. Temp plays a big role in oil viscosity.

I get the part about oil viscosity. Not sure it is valid to make the comparison to our shocks tho. The oil in them has a chance to come up to a working temp thru use (driving down the road).

The only example of lift struts on my truck are the struts on the back canopy window. They work fine when its warm. But in the dead of winter, they are unable to support the weight of the window. Working them so the oil in them comes up to temp is not really an an option.

I only mention all this because you guys were suggesting that struts should be labeled with some sort of rating for this. I would question the validity of a single numver or rating as the lift forces are effected by temperatures.

If you buy them online they are rated by inline weight lifting capability at X degrees. The ones at NAPA aren't because they are already labeled for use in something specific like to prop a hood on an 2000 Buick Century or something to that effect.

at a certain temp i think the differences a minimal. But idk. I never have used mine in the cold so wasn't an issue.

i checked them once in the cold and didn't seem to change much..

Yeah it's pretty absurd. I've seen more than a few LBZ's still pushing the $30k range. It's not really worth much to me just kinda fell into my lap.

Drove the Yota yesterday and god it felt like driving a prius lol. Drove great, nice and quiet. It was like putting on an old pair of jeans.

Not much desire to lol iPhone pictures get the job done.

Compared to a big old diesel it's quiet, just the consistent soothing hum of the KM2's.

It is pretty loud though, almost can't stand near the exhaust during cold starts cause it hurts your ears. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner on steroids.

On the road it's just typical clattering/clunking/whistling diesel sounds with the occasional VVT cycle when coming to a stop. It's a cool truck no doubt. I enjoy it, it just isn't for me.

I have enough sound deadener to do the floors, back wall, and doors of BabyT. Just need a weekend to rip everything apart. Lol, been sitting in the garage for over a year now .

    what kind?

Im hoping to get enough for all the doors, back wall, some material to stuff up under the dash. and i really want to do the roof as it is one of the thinnest parts and most flexible parts of the interior.

Should have to do the floors really, not a lot anyways. They are already pretty rigid. But can't hurt.
