So I may have a great deal coming around on a set of 2016 Tacoma F & R TRD OR shocks and the front springs, I am not planning on ever lifting my truck but know the shocks would be an upgrade down the road regardless.

Are the springs worth it? I figured why not as my 4cyl is lighter than a V6 so maybe I'll get a little leveling out of it.

Would you guys go for it?

    Thanks in advance,
    GB

    You'll get about an inch.

    V6/2.7 coils aren't any different.

    Really?

    That would be great!

I wonder if the progressive spring will be felt or not on my daily driving?

Appreciate you chimin in so fast.

I'll be making the deal in a few days hopefully.

I hope you're getting the suspension for free or like a case of beer. Cause that's about what it's worth. I wouldn't waste your time unless you're suspension is shot

    Really?

120 USD is what I'm looking at,

I did confirm they are off a 2016 TRD OR that was modified at the dealer so the parts only have maybe 10 miles in them or less. I've seen them and they are new as can be.

Seems like sorta a good deal. Looking through the marketplace here, they seem to go for double that price. :notsure:

Cool, just the shocks or both?

Any ride height gain in the front?

i replaced full suspension in the front (coils were still assembled). in the rear i put on the trd OR billsteins and added some sumo springs. kept my stock leafs.

got about 1" life up front. and about 1/2" in the back (from the sumo springs)

2016+ has the same frame as 05-15 but sits 1" higher in th front due to the coilovers. I assume the v6 is also a little heavier than your 4banger so definitely expect a littl lift. That said with the time to swap them and paying for alignment after this is hardly worth it in my opinion. Bilstein 5100s are running not much more and that sure would be an upgrade!

    The are from a 2016,

When I research Toyota PNs I get about four or so different ones between the second gens based on if it's an AC or a DC, and then there are different part numbers for the third gens based on bed length.

Are the Bilsteins the same for all of this years? I thought they were, but now know the OR Springs are progressive and may feel better but am I better served with my stock springs and 5100s towards the summer?

Guess I don't really want third gen springs on my second gen.

This is why I appreciate you guys, I was dead set on handing over cash but the reality is I might be better off waiting until I get a set of 5100s and just level the front out and have a better shock then OEM TRD ORs.

So lets just say I did the shocks alone, would I feel a better difference?

Well, I bailed on the 2016s but ended up with a set of the same off of a 2018 with 5-miles on them for the same 120.

Also have a TRD OR complete front sway coming also. Should help the ride quite a bit.

So what the best/easiest way to gain maybe 1” in the rear?

    Block?
    AAL?
    I’m missing something?

AAL is better than a block. If you tow or haul, go with a single leaf AAL.

I put on a set of '17 OR coilovers on my '15 2.7 double cab and got nearly 2 inches. The ride is firmer and of course looks alot better! I was able to sell the stuff i took off and recouped most of what i spent.

Can you get an Offroad with the 2.7?
